Fans of tightly focused “old-school” hack & slash RPG’s as well as anyone looking for a hefty challenge should absolutely stick inXile’s upcoming PS3/Xbox 360 game on their to-do lists. At a recent Bethesda press event, I got to sit down with a final build of the game and was very impressed at the level of challenge in the game (and the presentation’s not bad either). While inXile has noted previously that Hunted’s cover-based gameplay is inspired by Epic’s Gears of War series, the fantasy trappings and two tough yet likable leads should appeal to both male and female gamers alike. EXCELLENT. Thank you, Atlus! After a ton of interest from gamers outside of Japan even as the game’s developers said they had no plans to localize the PS3/360 game for Western audiences, the (no doubt going to be) Mature-rated horror/puzzle/strategy game hybrid is headed for a US release this summer. There was a HUGE teaser e-mail sent out last week that used the same pink background as well as a line from the game, so it was easy to figure out what was what. I ran a few movies on the other blog a few weeks back, but I’ll be updating.both sites with image galleries once I get shots of the US version in action. Awesome – I guess I’ll be getting both versions since they’re doing the dual cover thing (yeah, I’m THAT crazy).
Duty Calls, indeed! February 22nd is (*BOOM!*) right around the corner and Epic, People Can Fly and EA have a nice kick in the, er, you know where for you shooter fans. Fun and funny stuff here (screw the Faux news fake “reportage” about the game, folks) – pick it up (er, provided you’re of age).
Some folks don’t like the direction the SHIFT series took with its focus on more realistic aspects instead of tons of “street” style customization and nitrous overdosing races. ME, I say just calm down, “shaddapyuface” and perhaps play the darn game when it comes out or I’m turning this car around NOW. Damn kids. There’s room at the inn for ALL types of NFS games, and if you KNOW where the franchise originated, you’d actually appreciate ALL the different games, not just whine for the same stuff year in and year out. That is all. Release date, by the way: March 29 in North America, and April 1 in Europe. See you on the road!
Rumor had it that the PS3 version of Portal was to have Move support. Valve has officially gone on record to say nope, it does NOT. Heck, according to the company line, it’s already the best version of the game, so packing anything else into it would probably make the game disc rupture and your PS3 very unhappy. HOWEVER, you can still attempt to balance that retail copy on your Move wand and take a photo or record the act in progress (feel free to send Valve a pic or post the video on YouTube), thus “supporting” the PS3 version with your Move controller.
Oh – That gentle reminder? Go pre-order the game already.

Team Bondi’s hard work is bringing a new level of cinematic and visual punch to the crime game scene. As noted earlier, I’m thinking a lot of folks will be surprised at this one in terms of overall plot and some of the gameplay. I’m thinking it’s not going to be a mere GTA, 1940’s version at all, but we’ll see…
Yikes. 2K Games is rolling out The Man Himself in style with a big ol’ “Balls of Steel” limited edition that’s ONLY going to be available at GameStop and Amazon. I’m usually not to crazy about some of these premium packs, but this one has some pretty cool stuff that’s worth a look (and a read, in the case of that hardcover book). Daddy want.
