Zen Studios has launched its Street Fighter II Tribute expansion table for its popular PlayStation Network hit ZEN Pinball. The table, currently available for $2.49 US (1.99 Euro, if you’re in Euro-pe) features all your favorite World Warriors from Capcom’s classic fighter, plenty of fantastic, lightning fast pinball action and of course, Zen’s amazingly realistic physics model that really sucks you into the fun. It’s cheap, it’s a treat (zero calories!) and most importantly, it’s yet another good Street Fighter game. So what are you reading this for? Go buy and download it if you’re a fan of either SFII or pinball. If you’re NOT a pinball fan – well, you’ll most likely become one after a few rounds with this new table, that’s for sure…

Sony Announces New Slim PS3, Price Cut, Hell Doesn’t Freeze Over…
I should’a gone to Cologne, part deux:
SCEA seems ridiculously awful at keeping secrets, what with PSP GO! images being leaked out before E3 and such, but I say it’s all good for their bottom line in the end. No matter which side of the console fence you’re on, you’ve got to admit that the final announcement of the new 120GB PS3 Slim (and yup, that’s the official logo for the model above) at $299 as well as the price cut on older (and fatter) 80 and 160GB models starting September 1, 2009 is only great news for those consumers waiting for that price drop to finally hit.
Spiderweb Software Announces Avernum VI
Spiderweb Software has released the first set of screenshots from its upcoming RPG, Avernum VI, the final installment in the long running Avernum saga. The game is in its final phases of development and should be available in November for Macintosh users, while us PC folks will have to wait ’til early 2010 to get our hands on this epic.
Mass Effect 2 Cover Art, New Screens, Story Info Revealed
Hmph. Maybe I shoulda gone to Cologne after all. Anyway, here’s the cover art to Mass Effect 2 (fantastic), along with five new screenshots (even more fantastic) and plot points (presented in press release format because I love that yellow type I’m now using for PR stuff). The first thing that sprung to mind when seeing the newly revealed cover art was of any number of dynamic movie posters and comic covers I’ve seen over the years. It’s definitely striking, and gets the sense of wonder flowing, that’s for damn sure. “Attention alien scum – Commander Shepard and company are coming to kick your asses back to where you came from!”
…or something like that. Anyway, here’s the press release below the jump: Continue reading
MTV & Harmonix Reveal 19 More Beatles: Rock Band Songs
MTV Games and Harmonix have revealed 19 more of the 45 on-disc tracks that will be featured in The Beatles: Rock Band – leaving all, but one song a mystery. A gameplay trailer featuring ten of the 19 newly announced songs can be viewed by visiting the game’s official web site. “To the press release, Robin!”: Continue reading
Gallery: Fossil Fighters
Dug up some screens and art on Fossil Fighters, Nintendo’s newest (and just released) “collection RPG” (as well as potential future franchise candidate) that mixes in a bit of archaeology, geology and good old fashioned claw to the face battle action for the kids (and us dino-loving adults who don’t mind folks staring at us while we play games on the subway, of course). The game, developed by RED and known as Bokura wa Kasekihorida in Japan, puts players in the shoes of a young fossil hunter as he sets out to become champion of Vivosaur Island’s famous Fossil Stadium.
Yep, it’s got the Pokemon thing working for it the kids will love, but given that you’re using the touch screen and microphone for digging and blowing virtual dust away (“cleaning”) respectively, this one looks like a bit more of a workout. Anyway, here you go – game screens and cute character art…
Review: Aliens in the Attic (DS)
Developer: Engine Software
Publisher: Playlogic
# of Players: 1
Rating: B+
When it comes to licensed movie games scaled down to handheld systems (particularly a licensed game based on a summer movie barely screened for critics) my initial pre-review thoughts about Aliens in the Attic were of a too short, too cute and too easy game geared toward younger players and no one else. Fortunately, I was mostly wrong. Engine Software, a workhorse developer with a long history of portable game expertise was chosen for the task at hand. Engine handled the stellar DS conversion of Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords , one of the more addictive games in the DS library. Still, it’s a long road from supremely addictive and original puzzle/RPG hybrid to a licensed movie game, but guess what happened? They nailed it and nailed it good. Continue reading
Muramasa: The Demon Blade Update #2: Momohime!
In this second character profile from Ignition’s upcoming Wii exclusive, Muramasa: the Demon Blade, it’s ladies night, as we get to meet the lovely yet deadly Momohime, complete with screenshots of her in action.
Additionally, the game’s official website is finally live, offering up some cool content that includes an art contest (I’d enter if I had time to sit down and do an illustration, but that’s kind of against the rules), media, some great wallpapers and lots more. Pop on over after you check out Momo’s profile and screens (below the jump, of course):
