Dragon Age: Origins Update #2: The City of Haven

In this week’s Dragon Age: Origins reveal, we’ll take a trip to what looks like a fairly normal village similar to what you’d find in any typically grand role-playing game. However, as you’ll read (and as life in a BioWare RPG often teaches us), sometimes what looks perfectly normal is often far more sinister once one lets one’s guard down. With that, welcome, dear readers to… Continue reading

Zen Pinball SFII Tribute Table Now on PSN

Zen Studios has launched its Street Fighter II Tribute expansion table for its popular PlayStation Network hit ZEN Pinball. The table, currently available for $2.49 US (1.99 Euro, if you’re in Euro-pe) features all your favorite World Warriors from Capcom’s classic fighter, plenty of fantastic, lightning fast pinball action and of course, Zen’s amazingly realistic physics model that really sucks you into the fun. It’s cheap, it’s a treat (zero calories!) and most importantly, it’s yet another good Street Fighter game. So what are you reading this for? Go buy and download it if you’re a fan of either SFII or pinball. If you’re NOT a pinball fan – well, you’ll most likely become one after a few rounds with this new table, that’s for sure…

Preview: Vandal Hearts: Flames of Judgment Character Profiles

Konami is rolling out more info on the cast of its upcoming PSN and XBLA Strategy/RPG along with a brief plot outline. From the three missions I tackled at Konami’s NYC Gamers’ Night press event, let’s just say that The game is going to be quite a challenging experience for fans of the genre and hardcore VH fans should definitely be pleased with what’s here. Expect some very tough battles, all-new combat skills and rich HD visuals that pop off the screen.

Enough from me – here’s who’s who in this Sostegarian saga right below the jump… Continue reading

Sony Announces New Slim PS3, Price Cut, Hell Doesn’t Freeze Over…

I should’a gone to Cologne, part deux:

SCEA seems ridiculously awful at keeping secrets, what with PSP GO! images being leaked out before E3 and such, but I say it’s all good for their bottom line in the end. No matter which side of the console fence you’re on, you’ve got to admit that the final announcement of the new 120GB PS3 Slim (and yup, that’s the official logo for the model above) at $299 as well as the price cut on older (and fatter) 80 and 160GB models starting September 1, 2009 is only great news for those consumers waiting for that price drop to finally hit.

Gallery: Dragon Age Origins

My, oh my… BioWare is making waiting for Dragon Age: Origins as painful as possible without causing actual physical harm, aren’t they? Just look at these new GamesCom 2009 screens and make believe you’re holding a controller. Hmmmm… between this and the Mass Effect 2 shots, I just may hike up to Canada and camp out for a bit outside the company’s HQ. What’s the weather like up there in November, eh?

By the way, dear reader, the slightly bloodier DA:O screens will appear shortly on my other blog where “M”-rated game screens and video will be posted until further notice. While I;m no prude at all, we don’t want the ESRB harassing my PR pals now, do we?

ZEN Pinball Street Fighter II Tribute Table Details

Near-final details on Zen Pinball’s upcoming Street Fighter II Tribute Table have been announced along with an August 20, 2009 release date over the PlayStation Network. The table, the first expansion for the hit pinball game, just needs a final price point announced. I’m guessing it will no doubt be affordable, as too many hardcore Street Fighter fans outside your door can be a bit… terrifying? Anyway, here’s part of the official press release: Continue reading

Deep Silver Getting Ready For A Prison Break…

Deep Silver is stretching its publishing wings a bit more with an upcoming game based on the recently canceled Fox series, Prison Break. I’ll have to admit to never actually seeing an episode of the show during its run, but I’m definitely interested in what Slovenian developer Zootfly (Panzer Elite Action) will come up with and how it will play, that’s for sure. The developer also produced the rather interesting 2007 video trailer for an unlicensed Ghostbusters console game that amusingly enough, helped the actual game get funded.

Below the jump is the official press release for the company line: Continue reading

Gallery: Tekken 6 – 3D Character Art

Namco Bandai sure knows how to perfectly monopolize my quality time, but I’m not complaining one bit. Going through these awesome character renders and screens for Tekken 6 is thrilling enough. Deciding HOW to present them is a bigger challenge, as there are so many characters and screenshots that one post would take up most of a page. Soooo, I’ll break these shots up into two posts. Character art first, screens second. Get ready for an image overload, folks: Continue reading
