Here’s a good reason to quit smoking (or cooking) all that meth and start saving up some of that cash you’re throwing out the window like a certain Mr. Pinkman. $300 (or less if you shop around online) will get you this set of 16 Blu-Rays packed full of every episode of the show PLUS a ton of special features (or whatever 55 hours weighs these days). So yeah… “Fire in the hole, bitch!” – go dig up one of those barrels you buried in that secret spot and buy up a ton of these to give out as gifts if you’re so inclined. As for exactly what’s in the box, just peek below the jump for the long press release… go on, you KNOW you want to…

Pre-TGS News: SCEJ Drops Plenty of Vita Bombshells Plus a Late PS4 Release In Japan…
Weird, wild stuff going on overseas, as Sony is surprisingly bringing out a redesigned, less expensive Vita in different colors with 1GB of on board memory, an even more inexpensive Vita TV device that will let users play Vita and other PlayStation titles, watch movies and more plus a whole load of so far Japanese-only info including the release date of the PlayStation 4 in the territory. The big surprise on that end is the PS4 is shipping out AFTER the North American and European launch, which is something of a first for a Sony gaming console if I’m not mistaken.
Back to the Vita for a second – Sony has also announced a new 64MB Memory Card as well as price drops on its other proprietary memory cards for the handheld. The 64GB card will retail in Japan for 9,980 yen (about $100) and the new pricing on the currently available cards is as follows: the 4GB card drops to to 1,480 yen (about $15), the 8GB card to 1,980 yen (about $20), the 16GB card to 3,780 yen (about $38) and the 32GB model to 6,480 yen (about $65). Meanwhile, as noted above, North American and European gamers will get their PlayStation 4’s a few months earlier than Japan, as a February 2014 launch window was revealed. According to a few news sites, the reason seems to be Sony having issues meeting high demand for the console worldwide and probably targeting more units for the US and Europe first thanks to greater demand in those countries.
Finally, the launch title lineup for Japan was revealed as well, but we’ll take a peek at some of those titles in another post shortly. My fingers are of course, crossed that these price drops and new products pop up here in the US, but as always… we shall see…
A Little Doctor Who Primer For the New Folks…
Someone sent me this image a few days back but didn’t tell me where it came from but fortunately, some digging reveals it’s from this site packed full of memes and such. I didn’t poke around there at all, as it looks like a serious time trap, a black hole of clock eating madness that will suck you in and make your productivity disappear faster than a roll of quarters going into a slot machine in Vegas. Although… the last time I was in Vegas (Classic Gaming Expo 2007 I think), I think I only spent ten bucks gambling and won seven or eight back. I wanted to throw more money away, but I held out because I needed that cash to blow on a few games for the library. But I digress (as usual). Hopefully that cheat sheet above gets some of you not into the good Doctor to start tracking down episodes to watch before that new Doc makes his appearance. Just don’t try and watch TOO many episodes in one shot. You’ll either hear that main theme in your sleep or the sound of that TARDIS parking brake grinding away burrowing into your skull…
Random Art: Stuff to Not Wake Up and See #3 (Collect ’em All!)
Hmmm… I spy with my little eye… Eek. Actually, this eye spider isn’t all that big like you see here, but they do tend to get right up in your face and lurk there until you happen to open your own eyes and see it there. You could say “the eyes have it”, with “it” being your undivided attention as this thing starts doing its thing.
Oh, yeah… you’ll want to not scream at all, as they tend to love hopping into that open mouth and taking a little trip inside. I guess you could slap a few rolls of double sided tape around the bedroom and maybe on the bed, but there’s a good chance all you’ll end up doing is lose some hair on your head and assorted body parts from turning in your sleep. Pleasant dreams!
Saturday Night Fever, Ralph Kramden Style!
(thanks, compukatz!)
I keep forgetting to remind myself to research if there’s a box set or something legal of The Honeymooners on a disc I can buy, as I miss that show and don’t have the stamina to sit through the marathon on New Year’s Day that WPIX here runs every year. That and I’d probably spend the time watching The Twilight Zone marathon on syfy (ugh, that illiterate renaming STILL offends me!) instead. Or find something else to do like play too many games I need to catch up on. So yes, that’s the primary reason for this post, ladies and germs. I like gentle and funny reminders to get stuff done and you needed a laugh on an early Sunday morning, so it’s a win-win situation, correct?
OK, that’s my good deed for the day – now go get some sleep. It’s going to be a long day tomorrow and you need to make it back home to catch Breaking Bad…
Random Art: Stuff to Not Wake Up and See #2 (Collect ’em All)
I was actually going to post this one later in the week, but what the hey. I’m in a good mood today or something like that. Actually, I’m making progress in reworking the bunch of stuff I lost on that USB drive, so I guess this is a happy face (sings: “Put on a happy faaaaaaace!”). Yeah, OK. Let me stop here before your eardrums fall out and/or someone mails me a puppy or something. Don’t so that, by the way. Animlas seem to like me, but I have eye allergies that act up something awful around most animals with hair (and some people, too).
Hey, I’m a happy guy, really I am! I think this piece is incomplete anyway, as it’s part of an older drawing I clipped out and blew up on my scanner before dinking around with it in a few paint programs. Enjoy (I guess)… and pleasant dreams!
Random Art: Stuff to Not Wake Up and See #1 (Collect ’em All!)
Yeah, everyone has bad dreams, but you do wake up and usually things are back to some semblance of normalcy. On the other hand, you could be drifting out of dreamland and as your eyeballs are creeping open to catch that alarm clock a minute before it goes off, you see this mug staring into your mug. Feel free to swing a fist, pillow, pet or if you find it somewhat cute, give a big friendly hug. The surprise of any of the former actions will usually cause it to faint (a bit melodramatically, with a loud squeak and probably some gassy action), allowing you to make good your escape.
(OK, it’s just a portion of an old sketch I blew up and tinkered with in a paint program before making up a quick story behind the image. Just killing some time while downloading some files, folks…)
New Puppeteer Trailer Makes Your Friday Night Surreal (or Something Worse)…
OK, I laughed at this trailer, but I bet some of you out there get freaked out my over-sized masks and goofy costumes like others flip out over circus (or other) clowns. If that’s you, I’m sorry to have exposed you to this on an otherwise fine and rather cool Friday night (sleep with the windows open – there’s a nice breeze blowing!). On the other hand, if you’re having a gloomy Friday night, this just may cheer you up. If that doesn’t work… well, go watch the rest of the kooky live-action clips Sony put together, take an aspirin or two and get some sleep. Anyway, Sony’s PlayStation 3 exclusive, Puppeteer is out now in some spots, so if you’re a PS3 owner looking for pure platforming bliss, well… you know what to do, right?
Today’s Motivational Messaging Comes Straight From Dark Horse Comics…
GOG.com Gets A Harlan Ellison Classic (Finally)…
Well, well, well… I haven’t played I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream in about 15 years, but it’s definitely one of those games that sticks in the corners of your brain long after it’s been explored. Based on Harlan Ellison’s 1968 Hugo Award-winning story, this is an adventure game geared for adults that’s pretty unsettling and requires quite a bit of brainpower to make it through some of the trickier bits. Ellison himself appears in the game as the voice of AM, a not so benevolent supercomputer (OK, more like a slightly too malevolent supercomputer) that decided to put the last few remaining humans through the wringer in more ways than one. Best of all, gog.com has it now for a mere $5.99 and yes indeed, you sure look as if you need to be scared half to death this weekend.
Look at the bright side, though… at least you’ll be safe at home when you’re freaked out of your skin…
