It feels as if I’m trapped in a weird time warp, what with all these Phantom Breaker videos coming out and me STILL not playing the game. OK, perhaps I’m impatient or just too focused on all that 2D art flashing around or something – the wait is getting a bit tedious at this point. Anyway, you know the drill: an Amazon pre-order nets you the omake-packed Special Edition at $39.99 (a super deal!) and if you’re feeling extra sociable, you can also pontificate on the game and the state of 2D fighters in general over at the game’s Facebook page. Oh yeah, there’s an awesome CONTEST over on the official site, so if you didn’t click that first link in the post, you might want to go ahead and do that now…

Official Max Payne 3 Website Alive & Kicking…
The new weapons trailer is posted on the other blog if you haven’t seen it already. While you’re waiting for that coffee or tea this morning (and in case the link aboveis busted thanks to Blogger’s crappy way of handling embed codes), you may as well boogie on over to the official site and see what Rockstar’s been up to with Max and his latest adventure. Well, “adventure” as in he gets to shoot up a lot of bad men while you make sure he doesn’t play catch with too many bullets.
Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 (Vita) Gameplay: Your Wallet Now Has A Hole Punched In It…
So, how does Capcom’s ridiculously awesome (and near seizure-inducing) fighting game extravaganza look on the PlayStation Vita? Outstanding, I say (go take a look for yourself if you haven’t already). You can almost feel that wallet in your pocket or purse get lighter with each hit and in fact, if you’re watching this gameplay footage outside, don’t be surprised if you feel dizzy, pass out and wake up in an alley somewhere with yes, your wallet (and phone) gone missing. Or maybe you DID take a wrong turn while walking from the subway and and watching this trailer only to get conked on the head and robbed blind by a pack of unruly street urchins. Which means you really NEED a Vita and a copy of UMvC3 so you can learn some decent fighting moves for the next time you get distracted like that…
Rayman 3 HD Coming To PSN, XBLA In March
Above: a really nice trailer for the upcoming release of Rayman 3 HD, set for a March 21, 2012 launch over PSN and Xbox Live. Below: a short (and suggestive) note to Ubisoft from me: if you’re trying to get that follow-up to Beyond Good & Evil off the ground, why not pack HD remakes of all the numbered Rayman games onto a disc with some cool bonus features and get them out there along with separate digital releases so you’re serving both physical and ethereal gamers out there? Of course, you guys know better than I do about business matters and your own back catalog, so just ignore me. At your peril. I’ll be in the corner with my slingshot and some popcorn…
Phantom Breaker Update: Infinity vs. Fin Trailer
5bp’s upcoming 2D fighter is looking as nice as ever in this latest trailer. Remember, pre-orders for the Special Edition (a STEAL at $39.99!) are still being taken over at Amazon, so don’t forget to support these guys and gals over at publisher 7Sixty Games if you’re liking what you’ve been seeing so far. I’d say doing so in a big way will show not EVERY game like this needs to be a digital-only release.
Syndicate TV Spot: The Corporate Wars Are Getting Closer…
Nice. I’m sincerely hoping Starbreeze Studios and EA have their collective fingers in their ears and (their bulletproof vests on) when it comes to the silly trolling their baby is getting in some online circles. As noted on the other blog, once you try out the Syndicate demo and things start clicking into place, you’re hooked in and set to roll with whatever the final version packs. Me, I’ve been aboard since last year when I played the demo, so I know the game proper will be outstanding. To those still making Deus Ex: Human Revolution comparisons… well, you’ll just have to see for yourselves that while yes, there are some visual similarities, it’s not even close in terms of a few other key points. Well, there’s not too much longer to wait, so you’ll get the chance to see what’s up shortly… provided you can uncross your arms and look down at a controller instead of sticking your noses in the air…
Dragon’s Dogma Coming In May (With A Resident Evil 6 Demo Along For The Ride…)

Well, well, well… we have a release date! Capcom as announced that Dragon’s Dogma will hit retail in the North America on May 22, 2012 and will include a playable Resident Evil 6 demo (excellent) which will HOPEFULLY be on the disc and NOT some download-only nonsense that’s used to track new copies of DD or something like that. I’m actually happy to see a demo actually come out before the game, as it’s been an unfortunate trend over the last few years to ship out a demo too close to the release date (or well after in some cases). Then again, a lot of developers dislike making demos for a number of reasons (as you’ll find out if you get a chance to talk to a few every so often). Of course, I’m already reading about the usual skeptics who think Capcom is sticking a RE demo on DD to automatically sell a ton of copies of a game that might not be that great. But I’ll be the first to go after those naysayers with a rolled up newspaper if they said that without laying a finger on the actual game.
Anyway, another one for the radar – Thanks, Capcom!
KId Icarus: Uprising “Intensity” Trailer: Indeed.
It’s almost here and if this latest trailer is any indication, Kid Icarus is back to stick around for a while. I really hope Nintendo is hard at work on a WII U game that shows off some even more polished console visuals, a more action/RPG-like game experience and some sort of co-op and/or multiplayer functionality for those who groove on that sort of thing. I’m a story and gameplay guy myself, so I don’t give much of a hoot about multiplayer unless it’s adding to the experience by bringing something new to the table other than just running around and shooting each other in the face. Of course, I also hate over-speculation, so I’ll shut up and let you get to watching that trailer…
Sorcery: Magically Reemerging As A Much Better Game (And Yes, Still On My Radar)…
Of all the PlayStation Move software I’ve seen since the peripheral’s introduction, Sorcery has been the main title I’ve been wanting to get my paws on. While the original demo shown was exciting, it still had a ‘tech demo’ look to it and needed a few layers of polish. It’s obvious that Sony thought so as well because the game vanished into thin air after that first showing and I hadn’t seen it at a press event until it was displayed last December. As you can see from this PlayStation Blog interview, the upcoming Action/RPG has indeed come a long way and absolutely looks like a must-buy whenever it finally hits stores (which should be sometime in “Spring 2012” the last time I checked).
Game of Thrones Season 2 “Shadow” Teaser: Winter In April? (No Fooling!)
Confession time: Although I’ve seen bits and pieces of some episodes, I actually JUST started watching Season One from the beginning a few days ago (thank you HBO On Demand!). I haven’t read any of the books either (too busy doing the gaming and blogging and poking about for work thing), but going in cold was actually a great thing for me as it’s making me want to take a look at the books at some point. Anyway, it’s a great show (as you know, blah, blah, blah) and Season 2 (starting April 1, no joke) is looking even better. Of course, given the penchant for anyone to get killed off at any time, I wouldn’t be surprised to see nothing but the crew left sometime around episode 8 or 9 of the new season (ha ha)…
