Well, well. What do we have here? A game called HUNTDOWN by a studio with a temporary name ‘Huntdown HB (Handelsbolag)’ initially set for a mobile only release (where it would have no doubt blown gamers away who think ALL mobile games are awful tapper timesinks or cutesy kid games), now headed to mobile, PC and (hopefully) console? Let’s take a look and some screens, art and even a few GIFs now shall we?
There’s a nice, striking image, no? Oh, just wait until you see what’s below the jump…
HUNT´EM DOWN
MAKE A HEALTHY LIVING — BY MAKING LIVING UNHEALTHY
In the future, the police have lost control to the mighty gangs who now rule the streets. Where crime is king, the authorities put their trust in hired guns to solve the problem. A price is set on the gang leaders´ heads.
It´s time for the Bounty Hunters — It´s time to hunt ´em down.
Oh, this does look great, doesn’t it? I see influences all over from Robocop, Electrocop, Technocop (nod and smile if you know the latter two old games), The Warriors, a ton of other movies and games, all wrapped in that gorgeous, gritty pixel art that makes it look like a fantastic lost game whose code was finally unearthed. More? Sure. Please enjoy:
One suggestion I have is for the dev team to add multiple title screens as well as an attract mode option that shows the game in action after a few seconds of idling. Those GIFs below are fantastic, aren’t they? I can hear you nodding from here.
In other words, SOLD. As to when this digital madness is actually all done and playable? No clue, but color me VERY interested. Frankly, I’m not worried about the game at all, as it’s in great hands. On the other claw, That studio needs a name!
