While it's not coming out until 2011, Capcom's mighty little DS masterpiece is looking better and better each time I've seen it. Fans of the PS2 and Wii versions should be prepared to fall for the beautifully stylized visuals and I'm gathering that the DS stylus will be an even better fit for drawing with than the Dual Shock 2 or Wii Remote. Hell, I'd buy a dozen just to hand out as gifts just so folks can see just how cool the game is. Take a look at these Gamescom screens and see for yourself:

Gallery: Street Fighter X Tekken

Whomever thought this one up gets big Genius Points for life in my book. Capcom (who knows their fighting game fans are absolutely crazy in the best possible way) and Namco (ditto) team up for what's going to be a major blast of fresh air for the genre. This in-progress mash-up made my eyebrow poke up for a few until I got a gander at the screen shots. Yeah, this one is going to blow the doors off, raise the roof and bust a few controllers in the process. All I'll say is stock up on arcade sticks, energy drinks and Band-Aids.

Gallery: Dark Void PC Screens

What, MORE Dark Void screens? Actually, these are from the upcoming PC version of the game and amusingly enough, happened to become available right after I decided to post the console screens. Dig in!

Dark Void will be available in early 2010 for Playstation 3, Xbox 360, PC and MACOSX. Back with more jetpack joy soon as Capcom graces my inbox with more images…

Yet another game I’m hoping turns out as spectacular as it looks is Capcom’s upcoming Dark Void, set to hit stores on January 12, 2010. Airtight Studios has been hard at work on this baby for quite some time and each time I see it in action or pore over new screenshots is a reminder of how the best developers can take a killer concept and given enough time, really make it soar.

Given that some of the Airtight team helped craft the original Xbox mega-hit Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge, expectations are indeed high that this new game will not just follow in the footsteps of that classic, but surpass it to become a smash across the board on the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC once it finally ships…

Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles Ship Date, Awesome Pre-Order T-Shirt Revealed

Leave it to Capcom to go and cook up one of the coolest, craziest pre-order T-shirts I’ve ever seen (beating even that insanely groovy tie-dyed Raz T-shirt from Psychonauts) and they know it. Gamers who pre-order Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles for the Wii from GameStop will receive a ridiculously versatile T that, when pulled over the head, turns into an instant zombie disguise.

The T’s were first introduced at this year’s San Diego Comic-con and of course, the killer reaction from the crowds meant more gamers will get the chance to nab one of these goodies. It’s goofy… but really effective at first glance, as you’ll see below: Continue reading

Zen Pinball SFII Tribute Table Now on PSN

Zen Studios has launched its Street Fighter II Tribute expansion table for its popular PlayStation Network hit ZEN Pinball. The table, currently available for $2.49 US (1.99 Euro, if you’re in Euro-pe) features all your favorite World Warriors from Capcom’s classic fighter, plenty of fantastic, lightning fast pinball action and of course, Zen’s amazingly realistic physics model that really sucks you into the fun. It’s cheap, it’s a treat (zero calories!) and most importantly, it’s yet another good Street Fighter game. So what are you reading this for? Go buy and download it if you’re a fan of either SFII or pinball. If you’re NOT a pinball fan – well, you’ll most likely become one after a few rounds with this new table, that’s for sure…

Capcom’s Platinum Triple Pack = Gamer Bonaza

In the “if you want an awesome deal you got it” category, first, there was the recent 2K Games two-pack with Bioshock and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and now, Capcom has entered the party with a bit of slight one-upmanship. The company’s soon to be released Xbox 360 Platinum Hits Triple Pack contains Dead Rising, Lost Planet: Extreme Condition – Colonies Edition and Devil May Cry 4, all for a paltry $39.99.

One catch: you’ll have to wait ’til next month (September 8, 2009) to snag this deal, but if you haven’t played any or all of these games, that price point is going to be mighty hard to resist…
