Portal 2 Suffers Time Warp Delay, But This Is Actually Good News…

According to Valve and this nicely hilarious press release that pokes fun at the company’s track record for its games slipping into the infamous release date triangle, Portal 2 is special for yet another reason:

VALVE ANNOUNCES SHORTEST DELAY IN VALVE HISTORY

Valve today announced that Portal 2 — the sequel to the ground-breaking title that won over 30 game of the year awards, despite missing its original ship date — will now be available the week of April 18th, 2011. This two month slip not only marks the shortest delay in Valve’s proud tradition of delays, it represents the approaching convergence of Valve Time and Real Time. Though this convergence spells doom for humanity, it will not affect the new Portal 2 release date.

Majin & The Forsaken Kingdom Shipping Early (Well, Now – That’s Cool!)

You usually don't hear a whole lot about games shipping on time, so it's awesome to find out there's at least ONE game that's had it's release date pushed UP a bit. Namco Bandai has announced that Majin & The Forsaken Kingdom for the PS3 and Xbox 360 will be hitting retail on November 23, 2010. The Game Republic-developed action/stealth/puzzle game features a single player story driven experience in which players will team up with a hulking forest spirit-totem in order to save a mythical kingdom. A bit of press release below the jump.
I absolutely loved this when I saw it in action a few months back and it definitely has “sleeper hit” written all over it, that's for sure…

Is Atlus’ The Cursed Crusade Next Year’s Demon’s Souls?

I'm a tad late to the party on this, but that's thanks to my inbox eating a chunk of mail and me just getting around to retrieving it. By the way, the answer is no, but response to the recent announcement (and stunning gameplay trailer) by some of the usual message board denizens would lead one to think so. On the other hand, given that games where you actually play as a Templar Knight have been relatively scarce, developer Kylotonn could be sort of a pioneer if the game is better than the handful of other Templar games previously released.

Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare To Be DLC AND Retail Release (YES!)

In a great (and very common sense) move, Rockstar Games has announced that gamers will be getting the upcoming Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare as not only a digital release, but a stand alone expansion that doesn't require the original Red Dead Redemption to play. Not only that, but the retail release will include the single and multiplayer expansions to the game, a move that will most likely get those who haven't yet played the western-themed action game yet to give it a try. Anyway, while I celebrate Rockstar's being smarter than some publishers and not abandoning users who still crave physical product, don't have the hard drive space on their consoles for the DLC or hell, don't yet have broadband access, go read the press release below the jump.
