Case in point: It’s a good little thing this isn’t premiering THIS weekend, as I’d never get a darn little thing thing done. Hell, I’ll be shoving myself into the freezer with an extra blanket to hibernate so I’m fresh as a frozen daisy for that first episode of the new season, but I’ve got too much to do in March as it is. I’ll just pretend I didn’t see this little thing, “accidentally” flip to the show on the 31st and act like a surprised little thing that the show is on so early. It worked fine like that last season… (sings) “Little things mean a lot…”

Random Film of the Week (Corporate Edition): Rollerball
So, I’m looking over the notes for my Prometheus plot dissection (which probably won’t be as critical as my picking apart of The Thing from a few months ago), and that fun GE robot ad pops up. While writing up that last post about it, I got to thinking about a few of my sci-fi flicks that had evil corporations running things unto the ground for the purposes of profit and proving class struggle is a useless pursuit.Oh, what a fun time that was (he said, depressingly).
Norman Jewison’s excellent Rollerball was one of the first films that popped into my head (along with Soylent Green and Logan’s Run in case you’re interested) and amusingly enough, it just so happens to have popped up on cable recently. For the younger crowd out there, stay FAR away from the truly terrible 2001 remake and check out the darker, more violent and surprisingly deep 1975 original.
Doctor Who Series 7 Trailer: Making It Better With A Bigger Budget Works For Me…
Hmmm. Some fans like the old “cheap” look of the show’s visual effects, but I think that as long as the effect team is making things look more polished overall, it’s even better for the Doctor and company this season. Hell, the show has a long way to go before it approaches the pure CGInsanity of a massive Hollywood blockbuster, so I’m not worried at all about much other than how good the entire story arc will turn out. As usual, We. Shall. See…
Game Of Thrones Season 2 “Power & Grace” Trailer: This Means War (And How)…
After watching all of Season One over the course of three nights last month, then watching it again a few weeks later, I’m totally hooked in and can’t wait until April when things get rolling again. Actually, the first viewing did it – I re-watched everything just to catch the little things I may have missed. I’m pretty good at spotting stuff, so I didn’t miss much. Nevertheless, it looks as if Season Two will be one I’ll be sitting through multiple times, if this trailer is any indication.
Yeah, I’m slow catching up on a lot of shows, mostly because I’m playing too many games or writing or doing art. Hell, I just discovered how amazing The Wire is about three months ago…
Game of Thrones Season 2 “Shadow” Teaser: Winter In April? (No Fooling!)
Confession time: Although I’ve seen bits and pieces of some episodes, I actually JUST started watching Season One from the beginning a few days ago (thank you HBO On Demand!). I haven’t read any of the books either (too busy doing the gaming and blogging and poking about for work thing), but going in cold was actually a great thing for me as it’s making me want to take a look at the books at some point. Anyway, it’s a great show (as you know, blah, blah, blah) and Season 2 (starting April 1, no joke) is looking even better. Of course, given the penchant for anyone to get killed off at any time, I wouldn’t be surprised to see nothing but the crew left sometime around episode 8 or 9 of the new season (ha ha)…

What time is it? It’s Infinite Space Anime teaser trailer time! These two are pretty cool – enjoy!
Other than Q2 2010, Sega hasn’t quite announced a concrete release date for this tactical space strategy RPG, but as long as they keep these videos rolling out, the wait isn’t so bad, huh?
