I have to have a pair just to wear while playing the game (as I’m one of the few humans left on the planet that actually doesn’t listen to music through headphones anymore while out in public).

Alrighty then – here are 20 EOII screens PLUS tantalizing peeks at the 60-page pre-order art book (go pre-order the game if you want this bonus, duh!) and the very handy fold-out poster (which doesn’t require any pre-ordering as it’s packed lovingly inside the game case). Well, it looks as if Activision has outdone last year’s Modern Warfare 2 pack-in, folks. As you can see by the pic above, Call of Duty: Black Ops Prestige Edition will include a cool RC vehicle inspired by the RC-XD remote-controlled car from this year’s multiplayer portion of the game. There will also be a Call of Duty: Black Ops Hardened Edition that will feature a limited edition Black Ops medal, a custom skin for Xbox 360 Avatars (what, no PS3 love? – I’ll have to ask about this) and four unique multiplayer maps.
Both limited edition versions are now available for pre-order at major game retailers, so definitely hoof it on over and put down that deposit if you’re in the market for a cool set of bonus items to go with what’s shaping up to be a pretty hot shooter.
Larian Studios’ surprisingly stellar epic follow-up to its 2001 RPG, Divine Divinity (my hands-on preview will be up this coming weekend) is coming to the Xbox 360 and PC on January 5, 2010 and lucky Xbox 360 owners will be able to snag a neat set of powerful gear if they boogie on down to their nearest GameStop to pre-order the game. As I think I’ve said previously (and on more than one occasion), BioWare really loves you, particularly if you’re a fan of their games. Here’s a nice bit of pre-order info about Mass Effect 2 that may come in handy. Nice armor, huh?

Leave it to Capcom to go and cook up one of the coolest, craziest pre-order T-shirts I’ve ever seen (beating even that insanely groovy tie-dyed Raz T-shirt from Psychonauts) and they know it. Gamers who pre-order Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles for the Wii from GameStop will receive a ridiculously versatile T that, when pulled over the head, turns into an instant zombie disguise.

Once again, Atlus is giving RPG fans the love with a super-cool premium item AND a nice way to kick off the launch of Sony’s upcoming PSP GO! handheld. The remake of the classic PSOne RPG, Shin Megami Tensei Persona will get a simultaneous release in UMD format on the PSP as well as a download version for the PSP GO! on September 22, 2009.
Atlus isn’t letting PSP GO! owners get the really cool stuff, however (although Persona IS a truly deep and mind-bending RPG any discerning genre fan should play). Gamers who pre-order the retail release of SMT:P through retailers such as Amazon or GameStop will get a nice bonus: a 2-disc soundtrack composed by Shoji Meguro. They’ll also get the cool Collector’s Edition box it all comes in, as Atlus doesn’t want gamers walking home holding those CD’s over your head if it happens to rain on launch day… Continue reading
