Gallery: Dragon Age Origins

My, oh my… BioWare is making waiting for Dragon Age: Origins as painful as possible without causing actual physical harm, aren’t they? Just look at these new GamesCom 2009 screens and make believe you’re holding a controller. Hmmmm… between this and the Mass Effect 2 shots, I just may hike up to Canada and camp out for a bit outside the company’s HQ. What’s the weather like up there in November, eh?

By the way, dear reader, the slightly bloodier DA:O screens will appear shortly on my other blog where “M”-rated game screens and video will be posted until further notice. While I;m no prude at all, we don’t want the ESRB harassing my PR pals now, do we?

Mass Effect 2 Cover Art, New Screens, Story Info Revealed

Hmph. Maybe I shoulda gone to Cologne after all. Anyway, here’s the cover art to Mass Effect 2 (fantastic), along with five new screenshots (even more fantastic) and plot points (presented in press release format because I love that yellow type I’m now using for PR stuff). The first thing that sprung to mind when seeing the newly revealed cover art was of any number of dynamic movie posters and comic covers I’ve seen over the years. It’s definitely striking, and gets the sense of wonder flowing, that’s for damn sure. “Attention alien scum – Commander Shepard and company are coming to kick your asses back to where you came from!”

…or something like that. Anyway, here’s the press release below the jump: Continue reading

Risen Box Art, Voice Cast Unearthed

Did someone ask “Hey, where’s the Risen cover art? Well, here you go – in tasty Xbox 360 and PC flavors! Very nice indeed. Looks like Deep Silver’s big RPG is also getting some major talent in terms of vocal performances. I’m wiped out from spending all day at the Konami event, so here’s the beefy part of the press release all set for your reading pleasure: Continue reading

Dragon Age: Origins Collector’s Edtion, Pre-Order Info Revealed

Well, alrighty then (and yes, I want one!) department: BioWare’s upcoming Action/RPG, Dragon Age: Origins is getting the Collector’s Edition treatment with this big ol’ steel case edition (click below and watch it GROW!):

Deep Silver Getting Ready For A Prison Break…

Deep Silver is stretching its publishing wings a bit more with an upcoming game based on the recently canceled Fox series, Prison Break. I’ll have to admit to never actually seeing an episode of the show during its run, but I’m definitely interested in what Slovenian developer Zootfly (Panzer Elite Action) will come up with and how it will play, that’s for sure. The developer also produced the rather interesting 2007 video trailer for an unlicensed Ghostbusters console game that amusingly enough, helped the actual game get funded.

Below the jump is the official press release for the company line: Continue reading

Risen Hands-On (PC/Xbox 360)

At Deep Silver’s recent press event, the second big game shown was Risen, a great looking third-person Action/RPG by Piranha Bytes, creators of the Gothic series. Kai Rosenkranz, the game’s composer (and Jack of All Trades) was on hand with playable PC and Xbox 360 builds of the game, presented in side by side format for comparison’s sake. While the PC version was running on a higher resolution monitor, both versions looked exactly the same in terms of details small and large. This was an impressive beginning to the presentation and it only got better. Continue reading

New Fallout 3: Mothership Zeta Screens

Well, alrighty then! The RPG that just keeps on giving (and getting better with each expansion) rolls onward (and upward) into outer space. Here are a few spectacular new screens from the Fallout 3: Mothership Zeta expansion DLC, set to land on both the Xbox 360 (via Xbox Live) and PC (via Windows Live) on Monday, August 3rd for 800 Microsoft Points. Playstation 3 owners, you know the drill – keep those home fires burning, it’s coming your way as well at some point down the road.

As for what’s in the expansion? Well, now… I’ve recently scavenged together a Cut-n-Paste mini-gun from Wasteland scrap and it kinda works like this… (BANG!): Continue reading
