Throw a dead stuffed cat anywhere on the Internet and you’ll hit a gaming mouse review or recommendation. It’s a tough and packed market these days, what with big name companies getting their products out through big PC gaming tournaments worldwide, all sorts of promotions, pro review recommends and community board high fives pumping up interest in the best and often, most expensive mice you can buy. Then there’s A4Tech and their quiet storm of putting out some decently awesome peripherals and seeing what happens as folks like me try them out. Well, without a glowing trumpet or flaming flag in sight, I can safely report than the Bloody V3 Multi-Core Gun3 Gaming Mouse is a really awesome deal at $39.99 (or less if you shop around) and it’s also an excellent mouse FPS fans should take to like ducks to water. Packed with features (and some nice goodies inside the box that make it an even better value), the V3’s only drawback is the option to buy into what amounts to a cheat upgrade that allows even more functions to an already solid peripheral. PDP Wants You to Have A Happy Easter (And Buy A New Controller or Three)…
Now, THAT’S an Easter basket I’d hunt down any day of the week. Nope, I’m not one of those traditional yearly egg-coloring folks anymore (I used to hand-paint them back in the day, so you missed some doozies like an Alien-themed egg and other horror gems), but I don’t mind a crazy colored controller in the house. Fortunately, PDP’s cool range of Rock Candy controllers for the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii/Wii U are all here to add some holiday cheer.
Granted, I know most of you will be splayed out on the couch and half passed out from that chocolate bunny, jelly bean and Marshmallow Peeps cocktail you scarfed down too quickly and waiting for someone to hand you a Pepto-Seltzer cocktail chaser. But if you’re immune to tummy troubles or just avoid the holiday sugar rush altogether, why not get some gaming on with a funky new controller?
Young Justice: Legacy Cover Art Revealed: Revenge (of Sorts) Is Sweet…
OK, so the show is dead, killed off somewhat unceremoniously by Cartoon Network (the curse of poor ratings, most likely) but that’s not stopping the development on this game fans have been eagerly waiting for since it was announced. Here’s the official cover art for Young Justice Legacy, set to hit the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, Nintendo 3DS, PC (and hopefully a few more platforms). Developer Freedom Factory is going all out to make sure its upcoming action/RPG is one those fans of the show will really get into and definitely make a day one purchase. It would be nice to see sales hit a fast high and sustain that for a bit so CN could reconsider its termination of the cartoon, but that’s a harder thing to do with a niche series no matter how much the most loyal fans shake their fists at their monitors and cable boxes.
As always, (yeah, repeat after me, folks): We Shall See…
Despicable Me 2 Toy Profile of the Week (5): Plush Rush!

Three new plush figs from DM2
are this week’s bad poem you’ve to view.
Don’t blame me, folks – blame Thinkway Toys
They make fine stuff for girls and boys.
Collectors, too – you’re not forgotten
As these three toys aren’t at all rotten
Agnes, Unicorn and Minion Dave
are all well-made to draw your rave.
They’re special, as each activates
with sound or lights and functions great
Agnes speaks, her unicorn chimes
And Dave’s eyes pop (not from my rhymes!)
All priced quite fair, so grab them all
And decorate your room or hall
Stop by here this time next week
For more to make your wallets weak!
Gallery: Lost Planet 3 Screenshots – 50 Shades of Winter for Your Viewing Pleasure…
In case you haven’t been paying attention, Lost Planet 3 is looking mighty impressive. This PREQUEL (which I feel should have been called Lost Planet Zero just to aid the still confused folks out there ranting about it being a sequel and being totally and ignorantly incorrect about that) is chock full of some truly impressive Unreal 3 engine-powered visuals that show developer Spark Unlimited is doing more than their best work here. Poke around through LP3’s lovely Facebook gallery, “like” a few of these if you do indeed like what you see and definitely mark your calendars for June 25, 2013 when the game hits retail for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
Random Indie Game of the Week: Overgrowth (Or: WIP Indie With Battling Bunnies Intrigues Me)

Hmmm… I’d never heard of Overgrowth nor it’s “prequel”, Lugaru: The Rabbit’s Foot until a silly mistyped search mistake sent me to Wolfire Games‘ site, which of course meant I just HAD to download and give that Lugaru demo a try. It’s quite challenging and very well done, so of course, logic dictates that I share info on this to anyone who doesn’t know that already while pointing out that Wolfire is working on that new spiritual sequel. Above is a work in progress look at some early gameplay, so it’s going to change and change some more as the dev process continues. It’s also a bit amusing to me because of a dinner conversation had last night about cute rabbits in literature, so this is more of an anthropomorphic update on Watership Down if you think about it. Check out this “how to play” combat action from Lugaru:
Overgrowth looks to expand greatly on this, so it’s going to be a game I’m going to follow as it progresses. If it’s floating your boat as well, poke around on that game’s main page, sign up for updates, peek at the cool webcomic and get happy that you’ve just supported yet another indie developer thinking outside the box.
Deadly Premonition: The Director’s Cut Random Screenshot of the Day: Saturday Night, Greenvale…

It’s Saturday in sleepy Greenvale, so what are your plans for the evening? If you’re a drinking man or lady, you know where to point your boots, of course. Just tip your cap and tap, tap, tap to the stylish but rustic Swery65 Bar where the drinks are cheap, the company’s fine and if it’s not too late when you leave, you may even catch a dead body along the way home. Eeek. Hmmm… OK, that last thing might be a deal breaker for some of you, but that’s what happens when there’s a killer on the loose and a certain detective with a few loose screws hasn’t yet gotten around to solving this particularly nasty case just yet.

You can help Detective Francis York Morgan out AND keep Greenvale’s much-needed tourist dollars coming in, you know… just to make sure your trip to that cool old bar isn’t your last. How, you ask? Well, dear reader, just make sure to pick up a copy of Rising Star Games’ Deadly Premonition: The Director’s Cut for the PlayStation 3, of course! The game has been reworked considerably from the original Xbox 360 cult hit with improved visuals, PlayStation Move and 3D TV support, new content, Trophies and more, but you’ll probably go and grab it anyway because the game hooks you in and keeps you playing for longer than you’d expect. Of course, I’m betting you’ll spend a chunk of that time playing under the couch, as the game can be scary as hell when it isn’t making you laugh.
Defiance Pre-Order Dodge Challenger: “I Want That Car… Give Me The Keys!”
OK, OK, that’s a line from the wrong sci-fi deal (five cents if you guess where it’s from), but yeah, I see that there’s one piece of DEFIANCE kit that won’t come as part of the standard version. I’m gathering there will be a bunch of these tricked out Dodge Challengers rolling over friend and for alike when the game ships on April 13, 2013. If you were poking around earlier today, you may have seen the live stream of the game on Twitch TV with Grant Bowler and you may have even walked away with a Beta Key (lucky!). I didn’t, as I was out of the home office, but it’s OK – I’ll be watching the show more than playing the game thanks to no offline mode and my awful internet. Still, what I did get to play at Trion’s press event last year was REALLY great stuff (as in it’s all quality and tons of fun).
Diablo III On PS3: I’d Say Something Corny Here, But I Really Just Want To Play It…
This is REALLY good news, as the original Diablo made it to the PSOne too long ago and is mostly forgotten unless someone actually owns a copy (I do) and Diablo II never got the console treatment at all leaving some gamers who never played any of this series wondering what the fuss is all about. As long as the console versions (PS3 and PS4) have OFFLINE solo play (please don’t mess THIS easy thing up, Activision!), the game will see a new audience. Of course, if it’s jammed up with online only nonsense and no one can get on to play in a manner close to what happened with the PC launch, it’ll be more woes for Sony the just don’t need. As usual, we shall see…
PAX 2013: Capcom Makes My Day: Dungeons & Dragons AND DuckTales Are Back!
Dungeons & Dragons: Tower of Doom and its sequel Dungeons & Dragons: Shadow over Mystara have been two arcade games fans in the US have been begging Cacpom to localize for the US. For years, the only ways to play this were flying to Japan, buying an expensive Sega Saturn import or through not so legal emulation means, but now PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC owners will get to get down with some serious D&D arcade action in Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara. Iron Galaxy is handling the dev chores on the two D&D games, which will get the HD remaster treatment and more (read that link for details – I have to warm up my happy dance) with everything set to release digitally in June.
As for DuckTales? This NES classic platformer is getting the SUPER royal deluxe McDuck treatment, as its HD remake is being handled by none other than WayForward Technologies, one of the best 2D developers in the business (in my humble opinion). Expect to see this one on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U this summer. I’ll post galleries for both games later today or tomorrow, as I have a museum trip and dinner appointment calling me and I’m about to dance on over thataway, happily…
