CDV USA to Publish Divinity II – Ego Draconis In North America

As a longtime RPG fan, I’m doing the happy dance again because yet another awesome game from a favorite series of mine (and many others out there) is finally on the way stateside. cdv USA has wisely picked up the North American publishing rights to Larian Studios’ Divinity II – Ego Draconis for the PC and Xbox 360. Both versions are set to hit retail this holiday season, which means pre-order time for those of you looking for what’s probably going to be quite the sleeper hit…

Nintendo Unveils Holiday 2009 Lineup

And it’s a BIG lineup at that. Granted, this long as heck listing happens to includes both first and third-party Wii and DS releases, WiiWare and DSiWare exclusive titles as well as games that aren’t coming out until early 2010 (which is part of the 2009 fiscal year, so they’ll still count when profits are totaled). Release dates are yes, subject to change on some of these (as per usual with such a lengthy list of upcoming games).

Fairytale Fights Pre-Order T-Shirt Gets The DAF Seal of Approval…

Ah, my ladies in action! Remember, I DID say this one wasn’t for the kiddies…

Gamestop also has an exclusive trailer on the pre-order page (link below), so take a peek that way if you still haven’t seen the game running yet – it’s pretty spectacular stuff.

Robo-Shambo LIVES! (So Go Download It, Already!)

Yup, it’s up and live HERE. Of course, Murphy’s Law comes into play over at DAF HQ: my dopey Internet service has been acting up with Verizon doing a bit of digging and tinkering thanks to a few trees being blown over by a recent storm, so I’m sitting here wishing I were playing this and a few other online games (grrrr…). Something told me I should have asked for a disc build!

Also, great new screenshots and gameplay footage (love the rockin’ soundtrack in the trailer) can be found on the game’s Media page. That box image is a mock-up, by the way – don’t go poring over Amazon or Gamestop lookin’ to buy this. Heck, it’s FREEEEEE! Stop reading this and go play the game – grab a few buddies first, as it’s a multiplayer deal, OK?

Scribblenauts Pre-Launch Event Spells F-U-N at Nintendo World

“What, no B-A-G?” That’s probably what Julie Cheng was thinking when she got the very first retail copy ofScribblenauts... or what you’re probably thinking Julie Cheng was thinking if you look at that photo long enough. Yup, these press photo ops are so darn obvious, it’s a bit comical to the more snarky eyeball such as mine…

Trailer: Calling

It may be a bit low-res, but this brief, creepy teaser of Hudson’s upcomingWii horror game, Calling (set to hit retail sometime in Spring 2010) is nicely unsettling, in a Ringu kinda way.

After watching this a few too many times, I’m not picking up the phone for at least a month AND I’ll be walking backwards so no one sneaks up behind me. Or maybe I should just hold off on leaving the house at all until AFTER the game comes out… y’know, just in case…

Damn kids and their creepy dolls these days…

Gallery: Zaku (for the Atari Lynx!)

If you’re one of those folks who remembers the late, lamented (and technically superior to other handheld gaming systems of the period) Atari Lynx, well, guess what? There’s actually a small, dedicated group of folks out in California working away on a brand new game for the handheld, which still has a small, dedicated user base. Zaku, published by Super Fighter Team is a horizontal shooter being created on an actual Lynx development kit and according to the official website, will run at a blazing 60fps, making it the fastest game ever on the system… Continue reading

Games On TV: Scribblenauts Commercial

Here you go: mildly amusing, although given the game’s superb originality, it comes off as a bit lower key than I thought it would be.

Ah well… I guess Middle America needs this super-clean version that can be shown at all hours of the day without the usual irate parents’ groups going off the deep end about the game for no reason at all other than it’ll make their kids see and use words in the dictionary that they’d rather them NOT know at all. Yeesh.

Anyway, go buy a copy when it hits stores on September 15!

Release Calendar: 8/31 – 9/13 (Because I’ve NO Time to List ‘Em All One By One!)

Darkest of Days Blasts Into Stores… Well, SOME Stores

As you can see from my review, I liked this one, warts and all. Go give it a try once you go read why. For those of you who can’t find the game at a major game retail chain – Phantom EFX is selling it directly on their website, a few online non-game retailers (such as Amazon.com) as well as offline retailers carry it as well. If you’re curious about DoD and haven’t played the PC demo yet (there isn’t a 360 demo available yet) or have other reservations, there’s always Gamefly, or some other rental outlet, right?
