Sony Gears Up for Move Launch With New PS3 Bundles

Alright, it's late and I'm pooped. For your bedtime story, go read this nice SCEA press release while I jump in the shower and then collapse in a smiley heap for some pleasant dreams. From the games I tried recently, the new Move controller is a ton of fun to use so it'll be interesting to see how it moves in these new package deals with the larger hard drives and such.

Insomniac Announces Two New PS3 Titles

At Sony’s PlayStation Press Conference at GamesCon, Insomniac Games has announced they’re working on two new titles:

and

Resistance 3 is coming from the company’s Burbank studios while the new Ratchet & Clank is straight outta Insomniac’s North Carolina offices. No screens yet, but we’ll be looking forward to seeing what’s what with both of these P

Here are a set of screens from the hilarious-looking PS3 exclusive office furniture mayhem stunt racer. Hey, wasn’t there some free PC game download and/or a budget PS One title in Japan that used this wacky idea some years ago? I’ll have to look this up, but I’m guessing that perhaps some of the folks that worked on those games ended up here. Ah well, whatever – the game is absolutely insane, fast and funny as hell. It may be a super niche title, but it’s a total blast and good for some rolling off the couch hysteria once you give it a whirl. The difficulty is a bit challenging, but that’s a good thing in my book…

Gran Turismo 5 E3 Trailer

Other than ” It’s FINALLY coming out this year!” What else is there to say?

Here are standard-sized screens along with some unique portrait sized, ethereally lovely images from Sony’s guaranteed masterpiece. This one is on my absolute must-have list and should be on yours as well. Don’t have a PS3 yet? Well, here’s a hell of a great reason to own one, I say.

WARNING: Playing Demon’s Souls TOO Early Will Blows UP Teh Internets! WARNING!!!

Oh Noes!!!! Actually, dear readers (and this IS the truth this time), Atlus is letting you know that the Demon’s Souls US servers won’t be active until the game’s 10/6/09 release date.

Now, SOME of you LUCKY pre-order-ers out there may receive your standard or collector’s edition before this date and should you try to jump online, you’ll simply get, according to the press release Atlus sent out this evening,

“…an immediate PSN error and have to start playing offline.”

Ulp (that big-ass font IS scary, huh?). Cue Demon’s Soul’s doomy-sounding atonal main theme played loudly enough to creep the cat right under the sofa. Poor Kitty…

In other words, be good and listen to the soundtrack (which is an awesome aural experience), read the hint book if you must and ogle the lovely art book as you sit in front of your lonely PS3. Of course, you can always just play the offline game for a bit until that clock strikes “Server’s UP!”

Anyway, be patient and really, really, really enjoy the game, as it’s spec-tac-u-lar, period.

Sony Announces New Slim PS3, Price Cut, Hell Doesn’t Freeze Over…

I should’a gone to Cologne, part deux:

SCEA seems ridiculously awful at keeping secrets, what with PSP GO! images being leaked out before E3 and such, but I say it’s all good for their bottom line in the end. No matter which side of the console fence you’re on, you’ve got to admit that the final announcement of the new 120GB PS3 Slim (and yup, that’s the official logo for the model above) at $299 as well as the price cut on older (and fatter) 80 and 160GB models starting September 1, 2009 is only great news for those consumers waiting for that price drop to finally hit.
