Sega’s upcoming Nintendo DS exclusive RPG, Sands of Destruction is going to blow you away. With its superb production values, supremely beautiful visuals, and an amazing amount of voice acting for a DS game, this one’s a clear candidate for best handheld RPG when it finally reaches stores in early 2010. The Image Epoch-developed epic is in the process of being tweaked to improve game balance and a few other issues with the original Japanese version and based on my short time with a build at Sega’s press event last week, things are coming along very well indeed. Muramasa: The Demon Blade Update #2: Momohime!
In this second character profile from Ignition’s upcoming Wii exclusive, Muramasa: the Demon Blade, it’s ladies night, as we get to meet the lovely yet deadly Momohime, complete with screenshots of her in action.
Additionally, the game’s official website is finally live, offering up some cool content that includes an art contest (I’d enter if I had time to sit down and do an illustration, but that’s kind of against the rules), media, some great wallpapers and lots more. Pop on over after you check out Momo’s profile and screens (below the jump, of course):
Risen Box Art, Voice Cast Unearthed
Did someone ask “Hey, where’s the Risen cover art? Well, here you go – in tasty Xbox 360 and PC flavors! Very nice indeed. Looks like Deep Silver’s big RPG is also getting some major talent in terms of vocal performances. I’m wiped out from spending all day at the Konami event, so here’s the beefy part of the press release all set for your reading pleasure: Continue reading
Deep Silver Getting Ready For A Prison Break…
Deep Silver is stretching its publishing wings a bit more with an upcoming game based on the recently canceled Fox series, Prison Break. I’ll have to admit to never actually seeing an episode of the show during its run, but I’m definitely interested in what Slovenian developer Zootfly (Panzer Elite Action) will come up with and how it will play, that’s for sure. The developer also produced the rather interesting 2007 video trailer for an unlicensed Ghostbusters console game that amusingly enough, helped the actual game get funded.
Below the jump is the official press release for the company line: Continue reading

Risen Hands-On (PC/Xbox 360)
At Deep Silver’s recent press event, the second big game shown was Risen, a great looking third-person Action/RPG by Piranha Bytes, creators of the Gothic series. Kai Rosenkranz, the game’s composer (and Jack of All Trades) was on hand with playable PC and Xbox 360 builds of the game, presented in side by side format for comparison’s sake. While the PC version was running on a higher resolution monitor, both versions looked exactly the same in terms of details small and large. This was an impressive beginning to the presentation and it only got better. Continue reading
Gallery: Tekken 6 – 3D Character Art
Namco Bandai sure knows how to perfectly monopolize my quality time, but I’m not complaining one bit. Going through these awesome character renders and screens for Tekken 6 is thrilling enough. Deciding HOW to present them is a bigger challenge, as there are so many characters and screenshots that one post would take up most of a page. Soooo, I’ll break these shots up into two posts. Character art first, screens second. Get ready for an image overload, folks: Continue reading
Update: Muramasa: The Demon Blade – Meet Kisuke!
I’ve been a fan of VanillaWare ever since I picked up the awesome Action/RPG Princess Crown for my import Sega Saturn a few years ago, and while the company has only produced three other games since their 1997 debut, both Grim Grimoire and Odin Sphere have helped the small Japanese developer obtain legendary status among hardcore gamers. As for that third game, it’s a great PSP port of Princess Crown that was never released in the US (it’s not too late… anyone? Bueller?… Bueller?).
Their newest project, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, is a Wii exclusive side-scrolling action/RPG that’s been on my radar (as well as anyone who craves gorgeous side-scrolling bliss) for some time as a must-own game for the console. With Ignition Entertainment snapping up the publishing rights and the game’s release date right around the corner, we’ll take a look at the main character, Kisuke in this profile below the jump.
