I shot these earlier this year while moving some things around. Not my entire PS1 collection by a long shot, but that’s going to be photographed and posted in a bit. I sold off a huge chunk of it over this year and last (about 110 – 120 games) but I hung onto stuff I like or haven’t quite completed yet. I still think that some of these games need proper remakes or sequels in the future, but I doubt they’ll get done any time soon if at all. BTW, my copy of FF8 somehow disappeared a while back, but I think I may have accidentally sent someone it as a bonus by mistake. Oh well. Not like it’s rare or anything. I’ll probably post my US and Japanese demo disc libraries before the rest of the US games I have, as the demos are easier to get to. Anyway, enjoy – more to come!

Gallery: N-Gage & Gizmondo Libraries
Yes, there A few duplicates in photo 1. Neither are complete collections (a few N-Gage games not pictured are recently loaned out) and yes, I have both handhelds here as well in great working order. In fact, my QD is actually my regular phone because I’m a cheap (and poor) bastard and hell, it works great as a phone. I give not a hoot for fancy phones with touchscreens, multiple cameras and stupid data plans that leech your wallet dry before you even make a single call. As for the Gizmondo stuff, I only need Classic Compendium II and the SUPER rare Hit or Myth to have a “complete” set of released games. A few years back, some guy sent me a CD with a bunch of emulators and stuff on it, but I’m too dumb to figure out how to extract it all onto an SD card, so it’s in one of the CD holders near my PC. Eh, one day I’ll poke around again and do a step by step from the instructions on the disc, but I’m too occupied with more important things these days. By the way, both POD and Trailblazer NEED to be remade one of these days for PSN/Vita/XBLA/iOS/Android/etc., as they’re easily the two best titles on the system and yes, still hold up today.

And here you go, minus a bunch of stuff I played and sold or traded. Yes, the Windwaker manual is signed by Miyamoto, so that’s something off my bucket list (only 90,000 things left… yikes). Note to Dreamcast fans (and the guy who emailed me): SEE, I do have Skies of Arcadia after all. I did have the Eternal Arcadia box at one point as well as the US SoA for my DC, but sold them both off a long time back.
Anyway, Yeah, I need to get Baten Kaitos 2 one day, as I missed it when it came out and I liked the first game quite a lot. Yes, the last pic with the demos, GameCube promo DVD and Pac-Man VS. is here because I found them after I took the other pics (oops). Note: I only had about a dozen or so Japanese titles, but those are gone now. I think I still have a promo DVD with a booklet from Japan around here somewhere. but I can’t find it at the moment…
Gallery: Sega Dreamcast Library
Smaller than it once was (by around 40 or so titles), but still fun to go back to for some of these gems. Like a few too many Dreamcast owners, finding out the hard way that getting a new or replacement console meant those old Phantasy Star Online saves were no good was a shock (grrrrr!). But the game still holds up as a great RPG whether it’s played solo or online. Speaking of online (and in case you were scratching your heads at that last sentence), I recently found out that private servers (not officially run by Sega) exist for the game, so my crazy MMO suggestions from last week recently actually make a bit more sense. Not that I’ll join any of those few hundred or more still enjoying the game, mind you. I’m way too busy doing other stuff. Anyway, outside of the classics everyone always yaks about, I say D2 needs an HD remake, Illbleed needs a sequel and Rent-A-Hero #1 would be pretty cool to finally see, considering it was localized for the Xbox, but never completed.
Gallery: PC Games Library (Most Of It)
More stuff from the collection – these are actually posted on my Facebook page, but it’s only accessible to friends and folks on my contact lists. These pics were taken earlier this year, so a few (well, a bunch of) new arrivals are missing as are a few games I loaned out (as I’m such a nice guy). That, and the photos obviously don’t include all the stuff currently on my hard drive and a few portable drives.
I actually have a dead HDD here that had a ton of games and game saves on it that I didn’t want to destroy in hopes of one day recovering everything. But I’ve replaced a chunk of what was on it already, as it was mostly indie stuff and a bunch of free games and demos I downloaded years back. Yup, I’ve played all of these games. Nope, I’ve not completed every single one, but I can definitely spin a few stories about the too many hours spent with a lot of what’s here (if prompted and properly soused, ha and ha-ha).

Gallery: PSP Library
Well, it’s not much of a library NOW, but it was about twice a big until about two or three years back when I started selling off a chunk of it. Still, with the Vita on the way, I’m probably going to be looking for inexpensive complete games to add to the stack at some point down the road. I actually REALLY want more demos from all over, but I’m too darn lazy and busy to track any more down than what I have. Oh well… one day when I have the time (and definitely, the money) to burn. And, oops… that last pic is what happens when you put stuff away THEN find a few things you left out because they were on another shelf…
Gallery: Mega-CD Library
Not as large as the other libraries (and nope, nowhere near complete), here’s some Mega-CD titles to pore over. I have a bunch of Sega CD and UK Mega CD titles as well, but I’d sold off most of the core titles, so it’s a shadow of its former self. It’s too bad Sega or any other publishers didn’t have enough time to localize MORE of the RPG’s for the add-on, as games such as Shadowrun (an all-new version created for the platform), Record of Lodoss War, Shin Megami Tensei, Illusion City, Fhey Area, Cosmic Fantasy Stories, Death Bringer and others here would have made for a much more impressive lineup. But, hey – we DID get the fighting/RPG hybrid Battle Fantasy here as Revengers of Vengeance, so THAT makes up for a lot (he said, eyes rolling in his head)…
Gallery: 3DO Library
More of my game collection madness for your viewing pleasure. Actually, of the three galleries posted so far, this set of games was the easiest to photograph as almost all of them are stored right next to my PC in a CD tower and the others are in a nearby bin. Enjoy!
Gallery: Super Famicom Library
OK, I was going to save posting there until I woke up in a few hours, but I decided to stay up an extra half hour just for you guys. Anyway, I figured that since I went to all that trouble to photograph my MD/Genesis collection, I may as well break out the stepladder and get the Super Famicom stuff down just to get it done. Here you go – enjoy. I’ve a bunch of loose carts as well, but I’ll get to those at some point when I have more time. Before you ask, my large SNES collection got sold off a few years back, save for a handful of extra loose carts and manuals I held on to.
Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Hands-On: There Will Be Blood. And Running. And Gunning. All At The Same Time.
As much as I love all sorts of games I’ll admit to being a tiny bit skeptical every so often about Capcom announcing yet another Resident Evil title. Sure, the franchise is hugely popular with a whopping 45 million units sold across multiple platforms… but it’s far from perfect. There are certain gameplay elements that have been with the series from day one that, while fresh and fun a few years back, are a bit decayed when compared to some of today’s titles. Granted, keeping things set in stone doesn’t just plague Capcom’s zombie-packed games alone. I could go on for a few paragraphs about other storied franchises setting into too familiar territory, but let’s talk about the game that’s going to save Resident Evil from itself while surprising the hell out of the most skeptical die-hard fans in the process. Thanks to developer Slant Six Games, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is coming and in my opinion, as both an offline and online experience, it’s absolutely the best thing to happen to the franchise in years.
