Soooo, let's just say you've no huge Halloween party plans other than camping out indoors with that bowl of candy that's supposed to be for kids popping up at your front door. Or you just so happen to have a Halloween party plan that happens to involve scary games played and displayed for your guests to experience. Well, fear not dear reader – whatever you've got in mind, here are a few suggestions and selections from 2010's lineup of mild to mightily scary games, some of which will have you and a few friends parked under the couch. While most of this list is geared toward ESRB T or M-rated games, you'll also find a few more family friendly scares here for a few different systems.

Commentary: PSP2 – Does it REALLY Need To Do EVERYTHING?
Love Letter From A Low-Tech Hard-Head
As much as I love Sony and the PlayStation lineup), the news cycling 'round about the company's upcoming PSP2 (and possible, on and off PSPhone device) irks me to no end. Well, maybe not that much (this isn't an “angry” rant at all, folks), but still… Not that's I'm complaining (but I'm complaining anyway), but SOME of us just want a pure GAMES PLATFORM, not another touchscreen tablet, laz-e-reader, movie playin', memory eatin' overheatin' shiny new tech toy. If the PSPgo has taught us (and hopefully, Sony) anything it's that getting away from the core consumer or adding too much functionality to a gadget only turns away those who just want to PLAY GAMES (pirates be damned).

BUSY Week! (Busy, I Say!)
Yeesh. between the awesomeness of my hands-on time with God of War: Ghost of Sparta, the happy-happy fun found in Playstation Move Heroes, The Shoot, The Fight and a few other Move titles, There was the killer EA event packed full of key holiday and onward releases I need to write up. All that and the insanity of New York Comic Con hits tomorrow, for which I’ll be up bright and early for some hands-on time with even more upcoming games. I need a clone or at least a sidekick who can keep track of things and splash cold water in my face when I’m fading from being up too long…
It’s Not October Yet, But…
…Hell, those recent Splatterhouse screens inspired me even more than usual, so I actually whipped up a quickie banner a few days early. Hope you like it. I may do another next week. Then again, I’ll be busy with a ton of stuff including getting ready for NYCC, so I may not run a new banner at all.
We shall see…
Still Awake With Games To See Shortly…
Amusingly enough, I’ve a Konami meeting in about 6 hours (eek). Well, off to get some sleep. With my luck, I’ll end up having to play Saw II first and paying for it later with some freaky dreams. Ah well, I actually liked the first game, so then again… I may sleep like a baby tonight.
Anyway, updates to follow when I get back – Hudson Soft will also be there with a handful of upcoming games, so… bonus!
More Random Art
It Lives… AGAIN!!!
Yeah, yeah… rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated and all that stuff. Anyway, I’m alive and cranking away on a ton of stuff (thanks to Atlus, Konami, Namco Bandai, EA and a few other fine folks out there). Got a bunch of reviews, press event impressions and other articles headed your way this week, so pop back in if you’re in the need for a bit of perspective alteration.
Oh yeah – the PS Move is so far a LOT more fun to use than the Wii Remote… more on that in a bit.
E3 2010 Want List
This year’s show was pretty incredible with way too many great games to count. Here’s a short (hah!) list of a couple I’m interested in. Updates on as many as I can to come. If you don’t see a game you like here, feel free to comment and I’ll respond if it’s a game I overlooked.
Now Playing (Well, Sort Of…)
I actually completed a bunch of games while toiling away on that Neo Nectaris: Military Madness strategy guide for Hudson Soft (I had to do something to break up the all ZOC, all the time craziness) as well as started a few others I’m just getting around to completing, so reviews are coming…
… As if you need MY opinion to tell you to buy some of these titles:
Mass Effect 2 (360)
Risen (360)
Might & Magic – Clash of Heroes (DS)
The Sky Crawlers: innocent Aces (Wii)
Bayonetta (PS3)
Fighting Fantasy – The Warlock of Firetop Mountain (DS)
Plus a few others…
