Sega’s upcoming Nintendo DS exclusive RPG, Sands of Destruction is going to blow you away. With its superb production values, supremely beautiful visuals, and an amazing amount of voice acting for a DS game, this one’s a clear candidate for best handheld RPG when it finally reaches stores in early 2010. The Image Epoch-developed epic is in the process of being tweaked to improve game balance and a few other issues with the original Japanese version and based on my short time with a build at Sega’s press event last week, things are coming along very well indeed. ZEN Studios Has a Secret…
A mysterious email arrived this morning from ZEN Studios‘ PR firm. It has the rather interesting logo art shown to the left. The email says the official announcement of this mystery game isn’t coming until Thursday on the official PlayStation Blog. I’m asked to guess what this mystery announcement will be, or assassins will strike. I really hate it when that happens.
Hmmmm… from memory, I know that ZEN is known for its pinball games. A LOT of pinball games… good ones, at that. And that character does look familiar, no?
Anyone have a guess as to what this big mystery announcement is? I don’t think it’s Art of Fighting Pinball, that’s for sure…

Attention Wii owners: your core FPS has finally arrived… and it’s a total blast. The Conduit is a technically impressive first-person shooter with a nifty conspiracy-packed plot, an action-packed single player campaign and innovative multiplayer modes that will keep you playing for months. High Voltage Software has laid down the gauntlet for future Wii developers with this original IP that deserves a home in any genre fan’s collection. While the game isn’t as stellar in spots as a few high profile releases on certain other consoles, what it does well it does often and that’s where it counts. Continue reading
Preview: Plugging into The Conduit
With Sega’s upcoming Wii-exclusive FPS, The Conduit set to hit retail this month, I had the extremely great fortune to spend some quality hands-on time with the game (along with High Voltage’s Eric Nofsinger and Josh Olson) at a recent press event here in NYC. As an added bonus, actor Mark Sheppard lead character “Agent Michael Ford” in the game) was on hand with full-on enthusiasm for the game, developer and the current state of gaming. Continue reading
