As a longtime RPG fan, I’m doing the happy dance again because yet another awesome game from a favorite series of mine (and many others out there) is finally on the way stateside. cdv USA has wisely picked up the North American publishing rights to Larian Studios’ Divinity II – Ego Draconis for the PC and Xbox 360. Both versions are set to hit retail this holiday season, which means pre-order time for those of you looking for what’s probably going to be quite the sleeper hit…

Fairytale Fights Pre-Order T-Shirt Gets The DAF Seal of Approval…
Ah, my ladies in action! Remember, I DID say this one wasn’t for the kiddies…
Gamestop also has an exclusive trailer on the pre-order page (link below), so take a peek that way if you still haven’t seen the game running yet – it’s pretty spectacular stuff.
The GameStop Fairytale Fights pre-order program is available now through October 26, 2009 at GameStop. Please visit your local GameStop for more information and incentive details. Incentive items will be available at the retailer at time of pick-up starting October 27, 2009.
Fairytale Fights will be released on October 27, 2009 in North America and October 23, 2009 in Europe on the Xbox 360® videogame and entertainment system from Microsoft and the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system. Fairytale Fights will be made available on PC in 2010.
Robo-Shambo LIVES! (So Go Download It, Already!)

Yup, it’s up and live HERE. Of course, Murphy’s Law comes into play over at DAF HQ: my dopey Internet service has been acting up with Verizon doing a bit of digging and tinkering thanks to a few trees being blown over by a recent storm, so I’m sitting here wishing I were playing this and a few other online games (grrrr…). Something told me I should have asked for a disc build!
Also, great new screenshots and gameplay footage (love the rockin’ soundtrack in the trailer) can be found on the game’s Media page. That box image is a mock-up, by the way – don’t go poring over Amazon or Gamestop lookin’ to buy this. Heck, it’s FREEEEEE! Stop reading this and go play the game – grab a few buddies first, as it’s a multiplayer deal, OK?

Gallery: Brink

Bethesda Softworks has always been more than just The House that Elder Scrolls Built as the company has also developed or published a number of games in different genres over the years. One of Bethsoft’s upcoming publishing projects comes from UK developer Splash Damage (Enemy Territory: Quake Wars) in the form of the third-person action/shooter Brink, which looks as if it’s going to keep the good times rolling for fans of high-concept productions. While the game isn’t set to hit stores until Spring 2010, it’s shaping up to be a pretty impressive game based on the info, concept art and in-progress screens you’ll see below…
Dragon Age Origins: Meet Leliana
In this week’s Dragon Age: Origins update, we’ll take a look at one of the game’s female characters, Leliana, a bard from the land of Orlais who also happens to be a selectable party member and from what I can tell a “romance” option in the game. As I can see some of you less lucky guys getting royally slugged by your real-life significant others over choosing this lovely virtual redhead as your potential partner, you may want to keep the fawning to a minimum…
Darkest of Days Blasts Into Stores… Well, SOME Stores
As you can see from my review, I liked this one, warts and all. Go give it a try once you go read why. For those of you who can’t find the game at a major game retail chain – Phantom EFX is selling it directly on their website, a few online non-game retailers (such as Amazon.com) as well as offline retailers carry it as well. If you’re curious about DoD and haven’t played the PC demo yet (there isn’t a 360 demo available yet) or have other reservations, there’s always Gamefly, or some other rental outlet, right?
Gallery: Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising Co-Op Screens
With its October 6, 2009 release date rapidly approaching, Codemasters has unveiled a new set of screenshots as well as a game trailer for Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising’s Co-op mode. Lifelike visuals and animation? Check. Impressive audio effects? Check. Die-hard military simulation fans waiting with bated breath for the game’s launch? Check. Unlike other first-person shooters that rely more on the ‘one-man army’ approach to combat, Dragon Rising is (like the original game), a highly detailed simulation where trying to play Rambo will leave you and/or your team members dead in no time flat. The unforgiving nature of the game should weed out lazier players more used to regenerating health (not happening here), bulletproof AI allies (nope) and dumb enemies (don’t count on it). Scope out the press release below the box art for a bit more detail.
Update: New Robo-Shambo Screens, Info
Well, looky here! GearSphere has gone and updated its Robo-Shambo web site to include four more screenshots, three new wallpapers, two turtledoves and game info in a pear tree for the upcoming multiplayer LAN action shooter. Don’t tell the game’s project manager (as well as potential amateur boat skipper and Nutella collector extreme) Carina Kom, but I’m stealing screenshots and wallpaper images off the game site and posting them here for your enjoyment. I like this one the best:
Because I’m not a complete spoilsport, you’ll still actually need to visit the game’s site to see the concept art as well as nifty HUD diagram (complete with arrows and lines and everything!). Still no news about Nutella stock shares or boat basins being bought. That must mean it’s crunch time as the team gets the game tightened up for its September 14, 2009 launch. Look out below, screens and more wallpapers incoming:
Gallery: Darkest of Days (Updated)
Phantom EFX’s upcoming time-bending PC and Xbox 360 single player FPS, Darkest of Days is one of those games I’m really looking forward to playing thanks to its focus on a compelling single player story-driven experience and massive, open field battles. I have the feeling that the weapons selection won’t disappoint either, as it looks as if there will be guns from the past and future available to blast plenty of enemies with. Below the jump are a dozen more great looking images from 8monkey Labs‘ Marmoset engine-powered game:
