IndieGala Monday Sale Brings You RPGs In A Few Forms, Plus…

IndieGala_7_21

(thanks, Dice17!)

From complete games to work-in-progress Steam Greenlight and Desura versions, this week’s IndieGala bundle is a great treat for genre fans looking to expand their horizons. Granted, not all of these six titles are role-playing games, but all fit the bill as fine indie games worth a look. The Tower is certainly a nice surprise, as it relies heavily on sound and your paying attention to said sounds in order to survive. I also like that the game is narrated by its protagonist as you play.

Block Story looks like an oddball Minecraft mod, but I like that it has a story and characters out of a RPG while allowing the crafting and such you’d get in Mojang’s game. Granted, the juxtaposition of block-based environments and realistic looking characters IS a bit jarring, but the game is fun to play and pretty simple to hop into. That and it allows you to play cross-platform on your PC and mobile device, which is a neat feature that makes me hope the developer has console plans for this one. As for the rest of the games in this deal (which is available for the next day at a mere $1.49 before the price increases), if you haven’t already clicked that link above, what are you waiting for?

Bundle Stars Has TOO Many Good Deals. Please Take A Few Off Their Hands…

SERIOUSLY. I’ve bought a few inexpensive game bundles from them over time, but in looking at their page recently, I’m amazed at the rather wild deals they have there. You can pretty much click on any bundle in that link and get something amazing you’ve never played previously or may have played in the past and want to revisit. If I had to pick ONE bundle to snap up, it would be a VERY hard choice, but I’ll have to defer to the awesome Aftershock Bundle because of the spectacular classics it has. One of the best first-person games ever made, System Shock 2 is more than worth the $2.99 this deal will set you back, but you also get Wizardry 6 & 7 plus Wizardry 8, The creepy (and bloody) old horror adventure Harvester, the X-Com inspired strategy games UFO Aftermath and UFO Aftershock and the fantasy strategy game Ascension to the Throne. Finally, this particular bundle EXPIRES in just over 24 hours, so JUMP. ON. IT. and keep it from running away, I say!

I have most of these games already on disc, but this is a fantastic jumping off point for any gamer looking to update their library and get a bit of gaming history under their belt in a few cases. Something tells me I should do something silly here with one of these bundles for a lucky few of you readers, but we’ll see what I can come up with… soon.

Monday Blues? Let Indiegala Give You Too Much To Do Today!

Indiegala Monday 7_7

Hmmmm… SIX games for a buck forty nine for a mere twelve hours means “GO!” today, if you want some unusual games to make your manic Monday go down easier. I gay get this just for the insanity that is Into the Dark: Ultimate Trash Edition, a game so full of strangeness that even the bugs and glitches are fun to experience. It’s not for the kiddies at all, but hey, Mondays are generally adults only in one’s head when you find yourself cursing at the coffeemaker out loud or your boss inside your head at some point. As the old jingle goes, “You deserve a break today, so get up and get awayyyy…”. Um, of course, as these are digital games, you’re not getting up to go anywhere but to the bathroom or kitchen at some point to take a break. Anyway, make yourself happy and make Indiegala happier with that purchase why don’t you?

Bundle Stars & PC Gamer Magazine Want A Million Of YOU To Grab A Free Game For The Next Few Weeks!

bundlestars-horizontal

cover 522x353Okay, I missed posting the news last week thanks to CE Week overload, but for the next four weeks, Bundle Stars and PC Gamer.com are giving away FREE GAMES- woo hoo! This week, it’s the weird and wild mix of multiplayer only first-person shooting in a WWII setting and Jurassic Park gone wilder, Dino D-Day up for grabs as a Steam code.

Just look at the “cover art” poster for this digital-only game:

DDD_boxart480x600Yeah, that’s kind of attention grabbing, isn’t it?

“How the heck do I get one of those codes, mister?” you ask? EASY. If you clicked on that link above, you already know. If you didn’t, all you need is a free Steam account, a PC capable of running the game and time to play it. You also may as well sign up for Bundle Stars while you’re at it (this is free to do, by the way) just to stay up to date on the great deals they have on the site every day!

hardgrave_nologo trex_fists

Oh, and if that poster didn’t sell you, this old trailer SHOULD:

So, don’t sleep on this one – who can pass up FREE (especially if it’s got well-armed dinosaurs you can play as or against!)? Anyway, three more weeks to go and three more free Steam codes on the way for a lucky million gamers!

Indiegala’s Monday Sale This Week Nets Some Bad Poetry (But Hey, It’s A FREE Poem!)…

indiegala EMB

Another Monday full of stress?
I think you need some games for less!
To Indiegala, you now must click
This bargain’s great for thin or thick!
Seven games for a great price
Some music, too (it sounds quite nice!)
All under two bucks for a day
So go get yours and then go play!

Yeah, yeah – you get a crappy and very quickly written poem because I’m buried in catching up on a few things after my lousy weekend online. Anyway, seven games and some funky music to make your ears and other parts dance. $1.49 for 24 hours. Go grab them and get busy!

It’s BAAAACK! The Humble RPG Maker Bundle Returns!

Sure, it’s now set at a minimum of $25 (or more if you want to give more to charity), but this Humble Weekly Bundle is still a really impressive set of game making programs, add-ons and even more free games that you can shake a stick at. If you missed out on this before, don’t let the fact that it costs more deter you, ya cheapskate. This is about $370 worth of stuff if you buy it normally, so the price here is MORE than fair. I’d gather (and hope) this particular bundle stays on the Humble site for a while as a perpetual deal that pops in and out every so often, but that’s up to the folks behind the program who also probably need to sell this stuff at closer to a profit making level in order so they can stay in business. Anyway, go get yours if you haven’t already and go make that next “retro” classic RPG you’ve always wanted to!

IndieGala Friday Bundle: ACTIVATE Adventure Plus Mode!

indiegala friday special bundle
Okay, there’s a nice mix of weird but interesting stuff in this particular bundle, but for the low price of $1.49 (the minimum you can pay, but feel free to shell out more, as the money goes to charity), you’re getting weird, but good in terms of what you’re spending. If anything, the trailer alone for Cult of the Wind will make you laugh a lot if you’re in the proper frame of mind. It looks mighty silly, yes – but if you’ve ever pretended you were a fighter jet, it’s right up your alley, I bet. Go get your IndieGala Friday Bundle HERE and enjoy!

IndieGala Slaps You In The Wallet (Again) With Eight Steam Games For A Song…

IndieGala Greenlight
Okay, I’m officially Bundled OUT, but I’ll still pass along any great deals that I see to you happy guys and gals that love saving money and supporting charity. So, here you go: EIGHT Steam Greenlight games for as little as a buck, but feel free to bump that up more if you also like supporting charity. Okay, I’ll shut up now and let you go snap this deal up. Those are some mighty fine looking indie games, that’s for sure. As little as a buck, huh? Hmmm… (looks under chair cushions)… Oh, look! I found a buck! SOLD.

Indiegala Wants Another Dollar (Or More) from You. You’ll Give It To Them (Again)…

indiegala_monday_6_2

Yeah, yeah – you know the drill. 24 hours to get this deal for a buck minimum and then the price jumps up. I actually haven’t played any of these yet, but my backlog has gotten SO huge that I don’t know if I’ll e able to if I do buy this set of six games. I know that the Uncharted “homage” called Unearthed: Trail of Ibn Battuta – Episode 1 – Gold Edition is seen by some Sony fans as a bit of a ripoff, but hey, if you’re going to steal, steal from the best, right? It HAS to be better than those three Adam’s Venture games that snuck light bible study bits into an adventure game that looked okay, but had some control issues. Anyway, as usual, spend what you like, help charity and feel good on an otherwise hot and odd Monday!
