Fallout: New Vegas DLC In The Works

Well, you knew it was coming, didn't you? Bethsoft goes and makes one of the biggest games of the year even bigger. Too bad my 360 is dead (yet another one at that, grrrr!), but methinks what Obsidian has crafted will keep me quite occupied until the PS3 gets its own DLC pack…

Press release below.

Gallery: Resident Evil Revelations

My first thought (given the Capcom press page has this listed as a regular DS game) was: Wait…. these are Nintendo DS screens? Of course, you'd be a bit confused too, especially if you also saw those similarly eye-popping screens for the upcoming 3DS RE Mercenaries title. Then I realized that it's going to be one of those 3DS titles that you don't need the “3D” effect on to enjoy. Still, for a handheld with FAR lower resolution than any current TV or monitor, what's here is pretty amazing stuff. Go Capcom!

Power Gig: Rise of the Six String Song List Revealed

Power Gig: Rise of the SixString Guitar Bundle
The upcoming multi-platform release, Power Gig: Rise of the Six String has me a lot more interested than other music games this year because it has an actual guitar peripheral and I just so happen to be a frustrated guitar god and previous owner of four electrics before I gave up my garage band dreams (I didn't even have a garage, ba dum bum! Thank you, I'll be here all week, two shows on Saturday). Will I get another chance to be a Twang Bar King (hell, at my age, that's the sound my back makes every morning when I get out of bed), or will I have to settle for air guitar lessons from a drunken Elvis impersonator at the bar across the street? We'll see this October, that's for sure.

Anyway, Seven45 Studios has dropped the set list in my inbox, so here's what to expect in-game once you excitedly crack open that shrink wrap:

Valve’s "Three Big Titles in 12 Months" Gets Me Speculating…

Gabe Newell intrigues me. He's a nice guy when you meet him in person (as are other Valve staff I've come across – Hi Doug!), but he sure can say some stuff that gets my head spinning. That's a good thing mind you – my head is generally on too tightly these days, so you go, Gabe.

Gallery: Street Fighter X Tekken

Whomever thought this one up gets big Genius Points for life in my book. Capcom (who knows their fighting game fans are absolutely crazy in the best possible way) and Namco (ditto) team up for what's going to be a major blast of fresh air for the genre. This in-progress mash-up made my eyebrow poke up for a few until I got a gander at the screen shots. Yeah, this one is going to blow the doors off, raise the roof and bust a few controllers in the process. All I'll say is stock up on arcade sticks, energy drinks and Band-Aids.

Mass Effect 2 Headed to PS3, Bioware Says…

Well, that’s just supremely grand and excellently peachy, I say (glaring at his non-functioning RROD 360). As the first game isn’t (boo, hiss!), I’m hoping PS3 owners get some sort of brief recap or even a bit of new content, but we shall see, no? That is all. You may now resume your present activities.

Missile Command Is 30 (And I Feel Old…. But There’s A Sweepstakes To Make It All Better)…

Yikes. I can actually remember playing plenty of Missile Command in assorted arcades back in 1980 and onward! Atari is certainly celebrating their classic (and making me feel ancient) by not only letting you young whippersnappers play the original version and a really cool remix, they’re also holding a nice little contest where the grand prize is a restored MC arcade cabinet. So go poke around and enter, already. Feel free to check out their other playable arcade and Atari 2600 classics as well.
