Dead Rising 2 Cover Art/ZOMBREX Edition Pics

Capcom and Blue Castle’s upcoming zombie-packed kill-fest Dead Rising 2 is getting the standard and deluxe edition treatment as you can see here. Cover art for the PS3 and 360 versions plus the special limited edition ZOMBREX versions with all those cool goodies. Now if I can only get Capcom to send me a couple to sock away in case of a certain zombie emergency, I’ll be a happy camper…

Gallery: Street Fighter X Tekken

Whomever thought this one up gets big Genius Points for life in my book. Capcom (who knows their fighting game fans are absolutely crazy in the best possible way) and Namco (ditto) team up for what's going to be a major blast of fresh air for the genre. This in-progress mash-up made my eyebrow poke up for a few until I got a gander at the screen shots. Yeah, this one is going to blow the doors off, raise the roof and bust a few controllers in the process. All I'll say is stock up on arcade sticks, energy drinks and Band-Aids.

Sony Gears Up for Move Launch With New PS3 Bundles

Alright, it's late and I'm pooped. For your bedtime story, go read this nice SCEA press release while I jump in the shower and then collapse in a smiley heap for some pleasant dreams. From the games I tried recently, the new Move controller is a ton of fun to use so it'll be interesting to see how it moves in these new package deals with the larger hard drives and such.

Insomniac Announces Two New PS3 Titles

At Sony’s PlayStation Press Conference at GamesCon, Insomniac Games has announced they’re working on two new titles:

and

Resistance 3 is coming from the company’s Burbank studios while the new Ratchet & Clank is straight outta Insomniac’s North Carolina offices. No screens yet, but we’ll be looking forward to seeing what’s what with both of these P

Mass Effect 2 Headed to PS3, Bioware Says…

Well, that’s just supremely grand and excellently peachy, I say (glaring at his non-functioning RROD 360). As the first game isn’t (boo, hiss!), I’m hoping PS3 owners get some sort of brief recap or even a bit of new content, but we shall see, no? That is all. You may now resume your present activities.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution GamesCom 2010 Video

Looking really nice and coming along pretty well so far. Purists may be whining, but as much as an old coot like me loves the original and sequel, I’m going to give the game a fair chance. Eidos Montreal seems to be on the right track, I say – some hands-on time will reveal all… stay tuned.

2K Games & Irrational Announce BioShock Infinite

“Look, up in the sky! It’s a bird! It’s a plane!” Er, nope, that’s the floating city of Columbia, the setting of Irrational Games’ upcoming entry in the award -winning shooter franchise. After the success of BioShock 2, I guess someone around 2K’s offices said something along the lines of “Well, we can only go up from here.” Ken Levine and the folks at Irrational took that literally and well, here you go.

Below are the first three screenshots from the newly announced title, scheduled to hit retail sometime in 2012. It’s nice to have that far of an advance notice, huh? Taking the action from deep underwater to the not-so friendly skies should be quite interesting and based on the early info, the game won’t just be the same old thing with an open-air setting.

We’ll keep an eye peeled on the game at it progresses.

Bethsoft QuakeCon 2010 Screenshot Bonanza (Sort Of…)

Whee! I’m not at QuakeCon this year, but Bethesda still loves me. Anyway, here are a bunch of new screens from RAGE, Brink, Fallout: New Vegas and Hunted: The Demons Forge (all games I’m really looking forward to, naturally!). And hey, now that Bethsoft has bought Arkane Studios, howzabout a new Arx Fatalis game or maybe a remake of something really awesome, ancient and cool (Anvil of Dawn springs to mind almost immediately – hint, hint).

Anyway, here you go:

RAGE

Hunted: The Demon’s Forge

Fallout: New Vegas

Brink

That is all for now – more info on the above as it comes in.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Collector’s Editions Revealed

Well, it looks as if Activision has outdone last year’s Modern Warfare 2 pack-in, folks. As you can see by the pic above, Call of Duty: Black Ops Prestige Edition will include a cool RC vehicle inspired by the RC-XD remote-controlled car from this year’s multiplayer portion of the game. There will also be a Call of Duty: Black Ops Hardened Edition that will feature a limited edition Black Ops medal, a custom skin for Xbox 360 Avatars (what, no PS3 love? – I’ll have to ask about this) and four unique multiplayer maps.

Both limited edition versions are now available for pre-order at major game retailers, so definitely hoof it on over and put down that deposit if you’re in the market for a cool set of bonus items to go with what’s shaping up to be a pretty hot shooter.

Namco Bandai Announces Ace Combat Assault Horizon

Just in case you thought the PSP was the only platform getting a new Ace Combat game, Namco Bandai has just dropped news that an all-new title is coming to the PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2011. Ace Combat Assault Horizon looks to add new levels of destructibility and visual power to the long running air combat franchise thanks to planes that can be shot apart, allowing for a bit more realism in the dogfighting action. Here’s a look at some PS3 footage and a set of screen shots for your viewing pleasure.

Right now, it really looks as if Project Aces has a winner so far. We’ll have more on the game as info comes in.
