Well, OK… you can technically add food to stuff you can “build” and not buy off the shelf, but who’s writing this lame material, hmmm? Anyway, Deep Silver’s and Eutechnyx’ grindhouse biker action game is still on the way and sure, it’s not going to win any Game of the Year awards for visuals, but it just may be a hell of a lot more fun than some expect. Especially because you absolutely CAN’T judge a game by looks alone in this day and age. Hell, that would kill nearly the whole retro/indie games market in one go. As I’ve noted elsewhere, if it’s fun to play and makes you laugh in all the right spots (as in WITH the game, not AT it), it’s a keeper. Sort of like with people, you know…

Mezco’s Living Dead Dolls Resurrection Series 7: Chucky Gets Some Company…
Mezco Toyz is dropping some cool San Diego Comic-con International reveals on collectors in the forms of their upcoming Living Dolls Resurrection Series VII and Living Dolls Resurrection Series VII – Variant Edition sets, both of which now available for pre-order directly from the company’s website.
As you can see, the “reborn” versions of Revenant, Dahlia, Lust and Killbaby all look nice and ready to stalk your shelves at home (or haunt someone else you decide to gift them). Looks like Barbie’s going onto that bonfire after all. Just keep a window open… the fumes will make you end up looking like one of these hellish cuties if you’re not too bright…
Ubisoft Does A Bit of Pre-E3 Tease (or: Aisha’s Baaaaack)…
Having Aisha Tyler (from FX’s hilarious animated spy spoof Archer) host Ubisoft’s E3 press conference last year was a masterstroke, as she’s a gamer guys and gals can relate to without all that celebrity stuff getting in the way. Well, as you can see here, she’s going to be returning for this year’s show and yes, it’ll be the conference to catch just because it’ll be fun to see her take on some of the company’s upcoming lineup. Of course, Ubisoft always pulls off some major reveals, so those jokes she’s going to throw down should make a nice counterpoint to the sounds of jaws dropping in that hall and in front of computers or whatever device that event is viewed on…
Mamorukun Curse! PSN Announcement Trailer: The ONLY Time “Crazy Meets Cute” Works.
Consider the humble “bullet hell” arcade shooter. Some think they’re a dying breed, but for some reason they keep turning up all over the place as developers and fans of this niche genre know what they like and there seem to be enough old to new games appearing on a few platforms obscure to current that keep things really interesting. Anyway, G.rev Ltd. and Gulti’s insane “cute ’em up” Mamorukun Curse! is finally hitting PSN on July 16, 2013, so here’s a look at the announcement trailer and a small batch of screens. This one’s cool because you’re not in a spaceship or plane at all, but on foot or floating about in some maps, which reminds me of Pocky & Rocky, Twinkle Tale, Elemental Master, Undeadlinee and a bunch of other classics. But harder, as you’ll see above. Anyway, mark that date down and keep an eyeball peeled I say. Finger exercises optional, but if you go down in flames because of hand cramps, it’s your own damn fault…

Batman: Arkham Origins Update: The Riddler Is Back To Drive Bats Nuts…
Hoo boy. Those darn Riddler Challenge puzzles were am optional set of very tricky timed action sequences that extended the life of the previous games for anyone up to the task, and WB Montreal isn’t forgetting about them in this next installment. You know the drill, folks. You’re doing your Darkight Detective thing and while on a rooftop or some other otherwise nondescript location, you spy a glowing green “?”, accidentally or intentionally trigger a pressure plate and need to race to hit a few other spots so you can nab something cool before it’s locked away. The first one’s a gimme, but they get harder and harder and the next thing you know, you’re up at 4am consulting an online FAQ or making one yourself. This is actually the ONLY question I had about the game, as I know it’s in mighty fine hands otherwise. Off to look at jumbo-size aspirin, as some of those later puzzles will no doubt require a few…
Pacific Rim “Oversized Robot Sets” Trailer: Those Three Little Words…
Wait…What? You mean they didn’t build ACTUAL working robots for Pacific Rim? Man, whadda gyp!! Well, not really, but given that the animation is done with no motion capture at all, these big metal behemoths have weight to them when they move and don’t look like a stuntman going through his paces (and too fluidly, at that). Hey, imagine the action figures for this flick and how HUGE they’re going to be? How huge you ask? Well, silly… what’s the title of that video again? Yeah, that’s right – OVERSIZED ROBOT SETS. I’ll take a dozen, thank you much. And just what do you get the man who has everything? A bigger closet!
Random Indie Game of the Week: Bundle Stars Wants YOU To Adopt Lucius (He’s a Hell of a Child)…

Hey there. Bundle Stars KNOWS how much you love kids, so they’ve got a really special one they desperately want to find a few new homes. His name is Lucius and he’s quite talented. As in VERY talented. As in his birthday was 6/6/66, and it’s six years later and he’s discovered who he really is. As in this is VERY bad for his family in their lovely and secluded mansion. As in if you’ve seen The Omen (the original, not the remake), you’ll find a chilling little horror game with a bit of bite that 85% off for a LIMITED time only. As in if you have a Steam account and about three bucks burning a hole in your pocket (or Lucius has set your purse or pants aflame so that money falls to the carpet), you SHOULD buy this game… NOW.
I mean. look at those sad (read: glowing and hypnotic “adopt me… or I’ll kill you”) eyes… they’re begging you to take him home! And Bundle Stars seems to have a lot of little Lucius to go around. Won’t you please help them out? OK, it’s for the Special Effect charity as well, so now you HAVE to drop that three bucks and get this. Think of the children! And prepare to get scared out of your wits… eek.
rain Story Trailer: It’s Absolutely Dripping With Atmosphere…
Oh, ha-ha. I couldn’t resist that one, sorry. Anyway, Sony’s Japan Studio’s upcoming PSN exclusive is looking quite good and should be another one of those innovative games that shows the “old” PS3 isn’t dead by a long shot. Sony at least seems to realize that killing off all the content made for them on PSN is a really bad idea when the PS4 rolls around (at least I really HOPE they don’t expect longtime consumers to repurchase digital content they’ve already paid for), unlike Microsoft, which seems to e taking a damn the torpedoes, all our eggs in one basket approach to the upcoming Xbox One. Well, E3 will reveal all, so I’ll let that happen and see if either corporation has a strategy that brings in as many past, present and future gamers as possible…
Man of Steel TV Spot 10: So Much For The Talking it Out Stuff, Huh?
Well, so much for the small crowd that thought this was going to be too talky or *dull* because of some misconceptions floating about since that original languidly paced reveal. Balance seems to be key here, as the trailers and ads have gotten all the more intense. I’d say both camps should be pleased at the end of the day and as tickets are already on sale (a move guaranteed to pump up the box office receipts for that all important opening week/weekend), I’m betting “sold out” shows will be the thing to deal with in a few places. Actually, WB only has to “worry” about those early bird reviewers who nitpick the films they see to death and consider the first two Chris Reeve Superman films “untouchable” for some reason (they’re great fun, but not beyond criticism for their flaws). As usual, we shall see…
GRID 2 Launch Trailer: “Hotter Than Georgia Asphalt…”
Yeah, I was watching Wild at Heart again this week _ I don’t think Sailor and Peanut will mind me swiping that line. Anyway, GRID 2 Codemasters’ gorgeous and innovative racer is zooming into stores and yes, go grab a copy and see what the fuss is all about, I say. I’ll be reviewing this sometime next week or around the weekend when my review copy slides into my mailbox. Yeah, yeah, it’s not the upcoming 1200+ car overkill beauty pack that is Sony’s upcoming Gran Turismo 6, nor is it the “Everyman’s a winner because of our difficulty curve assuring you do indeed win a lot of races on the first or second go!” that the stunning-looking Forza games are. The team here if focusing on a ton of cool offline and online play that looks to shake up the racing game field and hopefully, many will dive in feet first and enjoy the ride. Back in a bit with more words dropped onto a digital page at random about this one…
