Yikes. As much hard work as developer Ninja Theory has done on their upcoming game, diehard Dante fans are doing nothing but pooping on their parade with some of the nastiest comments I;ve seen. Look, kids, the franchise wore out its welcome by the fourth game in the series, so it’s obvious that going back to his beginnings when he was a younger less talented punk makes sense. Let’s see him as a dark-haired emo kid coming up in the world and discovering his destiny. As anyone who’s actually played and enjoyed a Ninja Theory game KNOWS, this team has a way with crafting stories through solid writing and direction as well as innovative action sequences that make their games a blast to play. So, pipe down and at LEAST wait for a demo before you give yourselves embolisms. Then again, clearing out the bile-filled fools from the gamer landscape means a bit more peace and quiet, so if you want to pop all the veins in your head at once, go on ahead. Me, I love what NT is up to and can’t wait for some hands-on time…

Mega Man Legends 3 Officially Dead (OR: Well, If You’d Listened to Me, It Might Not Be…)
Dear Capcom, The next time you have the bright idea to complete a trilogy a few years too late, try publishing HD versions of the first two Legends games (and Tron Bonne’s adventure) on a DISC (PS3/360 and hell, maybe even Wii and PC), then use the profits from THAT to fund the new game, which SHOULD have also been on a console and not a 3DS exclusive.
I think the project was doomed from the start because it was going to be on a system with a fraction of the user base the original PS1 had. That and introducing gamers who may have missed out on the original games to the world and characters is always a LOT better than dropping a sequel onto a new system where more than half the people who might pick it up have never heard of (or played) the other titles. You DO know that the PS1 games fetch a TON of real money on auction sites, right? Ah well… live and learn, I suppose. RIP MML3!
Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D Launch Trailer
Crap. This means I’ll need to think about buying a 3DS after all. And here I am, trying to save up to get my damn passport renewed, pay for meds and a few other important things. Oh well… I guess I don’t need that extra kidney after all (and a 3DS IS cheaper than an iPad!)… The game looks pretty darn good so far (although you kind of don’t see that much of it in action, the visuals are pretty spectacular).
E3 2011: Capcom Booth Tour
Always a hit with gamers and journalist-types, Capcom’s E3 booth was PACKED with great upcoming titles this year. Check out the amazing amount of fun stuff coming your way games (and see some of the people who make them possible). BTW, Asura’s Wrath, Dragon’s Dogma and Street Fighter X Tekken are my three most-wanted games, but I’ll gladly take them all. No Monster Hunter in sight in this video, but give it time, folks. I’m sure Capcom hasn’t forgotten you loyal guys and gals…
Okamiden "Deities & Environments" + "Astroidean" Trailers
Two super-cute trailers from Capcom's guaranteed DS hit. With a March 15, 2011 release just around the corner, games such as this show Nintendo's popular portable system is FAR from dead. I'd say it's worth a but just for Chibiterasu's sheer cuteness alone…
Marvel vs Capcom 3 "Enter Galactus" Trailer: Run For The Hills (or Hell, Another Galaxy)!
I figured the big guy was going to be in here somewhere, but holy mackerel in a handbasket. Er, good luck beating him. Maybe that magic team of (rolls dice) Sir Arthur, Jill and Thor can take him down? It’s your call. Maybe just hit your TV with a baseball bat and try to trap him in a corner if you start sucking at the fight too many times…
Okami Plush/Pillow Set Is A One-Two Combo of CUTE!!!
Today’s “D’awwwwwwwwwwwww, CUUUUTE!” moment is brought to you by Capcom, publishers of Okami, Okamiden and now, NEW:

YES, I want that darn cute pillow and plushie! I’ll sit up, play dead roll over and beg for that set, Woof!! Er, details to follow soon on how to get one from Capcom, but I’ll guess pre-ordering the game or some other semi-heroic actions MAY be involved. Off to bug Capcom PR and see if we can give some of those away… THAT would be awesome, methinks… “D’awwwwwwwwwwww!”
Moto GP 10/11 Teaser Trailer
Capcom gets rolling with this brief taste of the upcoming motorcycle racer which looks to be a nice mixture of real-world tracks, bikes and riders with a mix of arcade and simulation gameplay. The release date for the Monumental Games-developed title is March 15, 2011 on the PS3 and Xbox 360. I’ll see if I can dig up some cover art and post it shortly…
Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds Video Bonanza (Part One of Many…)
I'd say pretty much anyone who can hold a controller (or, arcade stick if you're a REAL fighting fan) is interested in Capcom's soon to be released instant classic. The ages old “Who'd win in a fight?” question will absolutely be answered many, many times come February 15 on the PS3 and Xbox 360. So, without further adieu, here are six gameplay footage trailers packed into a single post with more to come over the next week or so as I make time to compile them all. Just don't try to watch all of these at the same time as your computer will probably explode.
Sony Unveils New NGP Portable System In Japan (Or: Welcome…The Artist Formerly Known as PSP2)

In possibly the WORST kept secret in an industry known for more leaks than the Titanic crossed with an incontinent elephant, Sony's next-generation successor to the PSP has finally been given it's official public unveiling at a press event in Tokyo. Codenamed NGP (Next Generation Portable), the new unit is sleeker than the current model and comes packed to the digital gills with a bunch of expected and unexpected features and functionality. The new handheld will feature dual analog controls (along with the standard D-pad and PlayStation keys), front and rear touch pads, Sixaxis motion control, a three-axis compass along with 3G network and Wi-Fi support.
In addition, while there's no UMD slot, there's a physical media slot that uses a dedicated card storage format, front and rear cameras and amazingly, a 5 inch OLED display that's four times the resolution of the PSP (go, Sony!). According to Sony, the new system is due for release during this Christmas holiday season – start saving those pennies, folks!
