A bit of serendipity (of sorts). As I was mooning over the GTA V trailer, my PS3 review copy of GoldenEye: Reloaded shows up. Looks as if the stuff I was planning to post (new Max Payne 3 screens, a quick note on UbiSoft acquiring Red Lynx and some other miscellany) will have to wait a few hours while I strap on my Move and Navigation Controllers for a bit. This should be fun. Back in a bit…

Prototype 2: Heller’s Happy Halloween Greetings!
Activision’s always awesome PR department keeps cooking up some cool and amusing holiday greeting cards for Radical Entertainment’s upcoming sequel, so how could they pass up the chance for a Halloween version of the game’s lead character. here you go – in two tasty flavors, at that. Hmmmm. I had NO plans to go out on Halloween, but maybe this might give me a costume idea. Then again, I’d probably get beat up by some cops here in NYC thinking I was some sort of #OWC protester or something. Then again, I kicked a damn helicopter not too long ago, thanks to Activision, so the NYPD better not mess with me, grrrrr…
GoldenEye: Reloaded Launch Trailer: Before We Resume With A Bang & A Boom…
Yes, it’s almost finally here, so get those itchy trigger fingers all nice and limber for a super solid single player experience that’s been nicely expanded and some very cool multiplayer modes that will get you yelling at your radar-reading CHEATER friends who pick Odd Job and start throwing bowler hats at you as soon as you spawn. Eurocom has whipped up a fun game that was great on the Wii last year and looks to be even bigger on the HD consoles. Let’s hope enough folks can pull themselves away from BF3 and a few other titles in the launch window to make this one as successful as it should be (and then some)…
Transformers: Fall of Cybertron Trailer: Grimlock Gets A Mean Makeover
Like it or not, nostalgia is very often a hard horse-kick to the head disguised as a wake up call. I liked the toy designs, but actually hated those corny-ass 80’s kiddie cartoons and the awful 1986 animated Transformers movie to no end (“Dare to be Stupid” indeed), but thankfully, there have been a few very cool licensed games for assorted consoles over the years. Melbourne House’s excellent PS2 game from a few years back was my personal favorite until War for Cybertron hit and it looks as if Fall of Cybertron is set to bump things up more than a few notches. I’m hoping they give this version of Grimlock a fitting voice, as that goofball dopey metal Bizarro sounding junk from the old shows definitely wouldn’t fit the darker tone the trailer exudes. We shall see…
Activision Has Me Doing Silly Stuff & Liking It…
I kicked a helicopter yesterday. Twice. Once in that picture to the left and once while playing the fantastic Prototype 2 demo at NYCC. The game is coming along REALLY nicely, as Radical Entertainment is pulling out the stops to create a faster-paced, brilliantly bloody chunk of a game that’s bound to be a hit. Everything I played at the Activision booth was pure fun on a stick and yes, worth a purchase when it hits stores. Also: Eurocom just rocks. GoldenEye: Reloaded’s multiplayer is lighting fast and looks even more spectacular on the Xbox 360. I’m still looking forward to the PS3 version to review as I want to play with the Move controller and see how well it’s been implemented into the game. I also liked the bit of X-Men Destiny I tried and Spider-Man Edge of Time is Beenox’s nifty little effects-packed sleeper starring everyone’s favorite wall-crawler. The developer is also at work on a tie-in game for the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man film (nice!). Speaking of licensed games, the Transformers: Fall of Cybertron teaser was too short, but in a great, “Holy Cats, you can play as a big metal dinosaur!” kind of way. If it’s as good as War for Cybertron was, fans are in for a hell of a ride. Back in a bit…
GoldenEye Reloaded Stealth Walkthrough
Mr. Bond, I presume? As far as replay value goes, it certainly looks as if GR will give players a few ways to go through the game (just like the Wii version). Here’s a bit of fun with vents galore in this walkthrough for the upcoming FPS set to shoot into stores on November 4. I’m leaning towards the PS3 version just for the Move controls (it’s just grand that shooters play so well with the peripheral).
GoldenEye: Reloaded Gets Fully Loaded PS3 Exclusive Double-O Edition Box Set
Yes, I still dislike MOST limited edition bundles because you often get stuff that’s not important to the core game experience. However, here’s a case where one of these big box deals is done really well AND has stuff you can actually use (particularly if you’re a fan of PS3 shooters). In other words, I’ll take a dozen, please! The Double-O Edition contains the game (of course), PS Move and Navigation Controllers, PlayStation Eye camera and Sharpshooter peripheral.. In addition, buyers will get a DLC character, Hugo Drax from Moonraker, complete with his spiffy laser pistol. No price point has been announced, but both the Standard and 00 Editions will arrive at retail on November 1, 2011. Xbox 360 owners will no doubt be boiling mad at this set, but hey, what do you expect when your version of motion control leaves you with noting to point at the screen but an angry finger. Still, you guys are getting the same game at least, so enjoy Eurocom’s awesome work to its fullest in single and multiplayer modes.
Gamescom 2011: GoldenEye Reloaded Gallery
More lovely screens from Eurocom's upcoming re-reboot headed to the PS3 and Xbox 360. Along with many other GoldenEye fans, I'm more than thrilled with what's coming. However as usual in the free-thinking democracy we live in, there are people out there who just don't want the game to succeed. As long as the anti-Activision crowd (some of whom don't play many/any games in the genre or worse, judge every modern/console shooter as “bad” for some reason), overly nostalgic N64 fanboys (yes, the original is a great game, but come on – grow up and open your eyes while learning to show RESPECT to a developer updating a classic into an even better experience) AND Daniel Craig haters (who have ZERO clue about how licensing works – you're not getting Pierce Brosnan back as Bond in a new game no matter how loudly you gripe) who STILL think every FPS has been ruined by Call of Duty (they haven't) are around and thinking their loudly expressed opinions are 100% indication of actual facts (they aren't, but thanks for trying), the game might have that minor speed bump to overcome at retail. I say if you're THAT skeptical and jaded, not even a playable demo will help you. Here's hoping that a percentage of these wags actually change their minds after playing one.Read more »
COD: Black Ops Rezurrection Promo Poster Is A Two-Faced Keeper…

While this one isn’t as high quality or quite as large as the Call Of The Dead poster, it IS double-sided, which is funky (but not unheard of).
AS I noted a while back, Activision absolutely NEEDS to slap all the DLC on a disc and get out some sort of Game of the Year package while very seriously thinking of making a full-on standalone zombie-blasting series at some point.
Oh, I haven’t decided if I’m going to give this one away like I did with the other posters, but if I do, you’ll be the first to hear about it… watch this space.
GoldenEye: Reloaded Mi6 Trailer – Wow (+ Tax)
Veteran developer Eurocom continues to prove they’re at the top of their game with this latest Goldeneye: Reloaded trailer. I think it’s time to finally retire the N64 back to the un(der)used systems box here at the DAF home base. Now, all I need to do is choose which new version I’d like to play, PS3 or Xbox 360…
