Nine More Gameplay Videos? Capcom REALLY Wants You To Buy Dragon’s Dogma…

Capcom is absolutely going all out with all these too short clips featuring the game’s assorted classes, aren’t they? Don’t get me wrong, folks – I’m definitely excited about the game and can’t wait to see how it’s all turned out. I’d just prefer ONE longer video to post instead of so many smaller ones, but hey – the more, the merrier, right? Still, all of these these too-brief blasts are getting many fans even happier about the upcoming action/RPG (and that included Resident Evil 6 demo is also getting fans of that particular franchise bouncing up and down in their chairs). OK, Capcom – all I need it the actual game to prance around and knock off a few beasties in for a huge chunk of time and I’m all good…

Let’s Take A Little Stroll In The Woods, Shall We?

Nice, quiet and lovely scenery, isn’t it? Nope, that’s not a photograph or some painting by the old masters, folks. That’s a screen shot from The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings (Enhanced Edition) for the Xbox 360. The folks at CD Projekt RED think it’s one of the best-looking games on the system and I absolutely agree. More on other stuff I agreed with shortly when I file my hands-on preview. April 17 is right around the corner, I know, I know. But the huge boxed 360 version of the Collector’s Edition is already sold out everywhere, so that bodes quite well for the developer, I’d say.  As for the rest of you 360 owners looking for the next great epic to play, your only chance to grab this gorgeous, mature RPG with a whopping sixteen endings (!) will be the Standard Edition (also coming to PC on the same day), which for my money, SHOULD have “Best RPG of 2012” stamped on the front, back and sides in big flaming letters.

Back in a bit with more – this one’s going to be spectacular…

Lazy Day, But Productive (Sort of. Mostly.)

Shhh… I’m supposed to be working on a hands-on preview of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition for the Xbox 360, but I got a bit sidetracked with some Wii stuff to day and my writing took a hit for a bit, I checked my stats and for some reason (hey, I got popular!), a nicely amount of new readers clicked on my Sniper Elite V2 hands-on, so that’s good. I have seven games coming next week (eek), a new controller to replace a busted one and I think there’s a press event coming up I need to bug some nice PR person about, so I’ll be busy. Then there’s that little art project I’m trying to get off the ground, but more on that once it gets off the ground…

Back in a bit, Sunday, most likely…

Botanicula: You Could Call It “Tree’s Company” If You Like (Ha, Ha)…

Now that GOG.com is making itself a household name these days among gamers in the know (well, more like gamers in the know who THOUGHT they were cool beans until they got gog.com accounts and are now much cooler), they’re adding even more excellent content like this wonderful looking point & click adventure game by Jaromír Plachý and Amanita Design. I actually wish games like this were a lot more appreciated, as well as available on more platforms (I’d buy it on the Vita for sure), but hey – this is a great start for such a charming little indie game you should probably give a try one of these days…

Skullgirls “Behold Double” Trailer: Er, Behold Double WHAT?

Hey, now! Put down that baseball bat! I’m no pervy otaku at all, folks – I just laughed out loud when I saw the trailer title and watched it while my tiny male brain thought of the first two things that came to mind. Er, wait… that came out wrong. Um, boy, are my thumbs going to be sore! No, that didn’t come out right either…. Hmmm, let me quit while I’m ahead (or behind, depending on your sense of humor) or I’ll end up boots up in a Dumpster somewhere…

There Are More Fighters In The New Naruto Game Than Letters In This Title.

Between the massive roster, the all-new Studio Pierrot animation created for the game and the endless hours of fun that will have you and your Naruto-loving friends up (for endless hours, I say!)  I think it’s about time to stock up on a few extra controllers.  Just in case stuff happens.  “WHAT stuff?” you ask? Well, you know… stuff. Now, you don’t HAVE to buy those extra gamepads because I said so, but don’t cell me up at 2AM when you bust your stick and want to borrow one of mine. Go poke around on Newegg.com or something, snap up a few inexpensive Nyko wired controllers and leave me alone, I’m trying to sleep. Good Night!

Defiance Trailer: OK, If The Show Stinks, This Will Be A HUGE Waste Of Time And Talent…

Was that TOO harsh? Oops, sorry (heh). Well, I was trying not to be TOO negative, but I was royally bugged by a few things in the game and TV show description. I’m just saying that this is a massive risk for Sony, SOE, Trion Worlds and the former Sci-Fi Channel (yes, I still refuse to use that illiterate new spelling they paid someone far too much to change a few years ago). Sure, the game looks great so far (and has a way to go before its complete), but what if the vastly hyped upcoming TV show is less Battlestar: Galactica and more Terranova?  Oops. For a few potential players, that would doom the game, especially if they have memories of The Matrix Online or a few other MMO’s that promised the world but gave up the ghost somewhere along the line.

The Avengers “Roll Call” Trailer: I’d Bet They’d Beat The Crap Out Of The Mousketeers…

OK, big deal. So you survived your significant other dressing up as the Black Widow and pounding you with a wooden chair while on the phone with her mom, (good thing you landed on your hard head, right?), but I don’t think you’re going to last long in Round Two. I’m just saying.. (Aflaaaaaaac!)

Blaze’s GameGadget Is REALLY Cool. I Want One (You Probably Should Too)…

Let’s see now: a discounted price PLUS 30 classic Sega Genesis/Mega Drive titles FREE with the unit if you grab one before April 30, 2012, PLUS it’s packed with some excellent features AND the potential to beat up (a tiny bit) on Apple’s massive success? OK, I’m in. Hmmm. I recently got a Vita and even it’s a little jealous of this handheld. even though Blaze’s slick little device isn’t as “cutting edge” in design, I’m actually looking into acquiring one for the collection at some point.  Anyway, the GameGadget site is live, so go check it out and GET ONEso you can thumb your nose at the mega-corps with one hand AND get to play some great games with the other. Me, I’m stocking up the pennies slowly, so this will get added into the collection at some point.

Starhawk Wants You To Take Nearly Everything Out For a Spin. With Pleasure, LightBox!

At this point about the only thing that can’t be driven, flown or dropped on an enemy in this innovative, lightning paced action/RTS hybrid are the planets in the game, but I’m sure LightBox will think of something creative to do about that… May 8, people. Go make yourselves happy and reserve away, as doing so will bump up that game to the Limited Edition version at no additional charge. Granted, if all you want is the single player campaign, you probably have not too much use for any DLC. Hopefully, that campaign will be lengthy and quite replayable for those gamers, but I think they’re covered, as this isn’t looking at all like a game you just play once and put back on the shelf…
