Earth Defense Force Insect Armageddon Update: Two Gameplay Videos

Color me impressed. Vicious Cycle is so far, doing the EDF name justice. Yeah, I miss the retro-futuristic visual style of the Sandlot-developed games, but what's here is updated nicely with faster gameplay, better animations and that nice sense of stuff going *BOOM* the EDF games all share. My minor gripes: MORE and more varied voice comments would be nice.Trying to replicate the cheesy charm of the older games doesn't quite work with the more “serious” style EDFIA is going for. Also, a few more enemies on screen in later gameplay movies would be nice just to see what the engine is really capable of. I'm not quite getting that “Eek! Overwhelmed” feeling found in the crazier missions from the older games. I guess we'll have to see what's what when D3Publisher updates us with new movies and screens, right?

Video # 2 is below the jump, by the way.

Gallery Update: Earth Defense Force Insect Armageddon

So far, so good and a LOT of changes in the visual style from the older games. That's a nice new controllable mech from one of the game's loading screens above. The two gameplay movies I'll post later show off much better character animation and some nice visual effects, but I do miss Pale Wing's cute getup and the bigger, slower moving shiny Hectors. That and a few other things (such as seeing more enemies onscreen in future builds), but overall, I'm excited at how well the game is looking with quite a while to go before its Spring 2011 launch. More EDFIA updates as they come in – stay tuned…

Saw 3D Poster Revealed

And here it is (below the jump), the official Saw 3D poster art! One question, though… just what the heck would you build a skyscraper-sized Jigsaw statue out of anyway? The film is in theaters on October 29, by the way…

Two Worlds II Delayed ‘Til January 2011 (And Why I’m Not Worried One Bit)

Hmmmm… Southpeak says the game needs a tad more polish, so it's now headed your way in a few months rather than next week. TopWare says it's more than ready for its closeup, but thanks to a few similarly massive titles, wants players to have enough time to digest those large lunches before their big dinner. Ready… FIGHT!

Er, no (*DING!*)

I'd have to say BOTH are acceptable excuses. Read on for my cosmic rationale…

It’s Not October Yet, But…

…Hell, those recent Splatterhouse screens inspired me even more than usual, so I actually whipped up a quickie banner a few days early. Hope you like it. I may do another next week. Then again, I’ll be busy with a ton of stuff including getting ready for NYCC, so I may not run a new banner at all.

We shall see…

TRON: Evolution PAX Gameplay Footage

Nice update here with a bit more polish to the game world and movement. So far, so good…

Gallery Update IV: Splatterhouse

The three screens I can run on this more family-friendly blog are below. As for the rest… well, you know where to find them, don't you? Only a few more weeks to go, ladies and germs! More gallery updates to come shortly, as Namco Bandai seems to be adding even more gorgeously gruesome screens as the game approaches its ship date.
