NISA Online Store Does It AGAIN: Atelier Meruru Limited Edition Brings The Bonuses Quite Affordably

You KNOW by now that the wondrous NISA Online Store has quite possibly the best pre-order bonuses for a fantastic price point of any company publishing JRPGs these days and this time they’re going all out for Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland. A measly $65 for ALL that stuff?  Wow. NISA’s “Cut out the middleman and lookit the SAVINGS!!” approach to game retail is a godsend in this day and age of overpriced DLC schemes, not so “Limited” editions that have you hanging out in the rain waiting to get mugged at a midnight launch or any other nefarious plans to part you with your hard-earned Zenny while brainwashing you into thinking you’re special. Hell, I’m not a huge Atelier fan, but even I’m tempted to hock some stuff to snap up this set.

That and oh yeah, Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention on the Vita is coming (or: There The Hell Goes All My Free Time, Again)…

Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland – NISA’s Nicely Necessary New Niche

While the Atelier series isn’t for everyone, it’s great to see the series still going after all these years Atelier Meruru, the latest PS3 installment features characters from Atelier Rorona and Atelier Totori plus some all new or tweaked gameplay. If you’ve never played one of these cute simulation/alchemy/RPGs previously, it’s all a bit thick to the skull for a bit until you get a few hours in. Still, the mostly light tone, charming visuals and nicely done soundtracks the series is known for amongst its fan base are always good for losing oneself for a few too many hours before you know what hit you…

Clan of Champions Isn’t What You Think It Is (And That’s Probably A Good Thing)…

This spring, NISA will be publishing Acquire’s upcoming downloadable PS3, Xbox 360 and PC fantasy action game (for up to six players), Gladiator VS under a name that makes it sound exactly like either a RPG or a League of Legends pastiche. This of course, could work for or against the game as I can see JRPG fans wanting to snap it up automatically because of the Nippon Ichi connection and overly protective LoL fans thinking it’s a shoddy rip-off of some sort. Yours truly falls under the happy medium label, as I want to see the game succeed on its own merits and not just some accidental honors blessed upon the game by those who automatically support ANYTHING certain companies put out just to add another notch to their gaming belts. Of course, i don’t want it to fail miserably because it gets bad word of mouth from too many people who haven’t a clue (and nope, uninformed opinions based on NOT touching the game don’t count). In English: personally, I like what Acquire has done here (and with previous entries in the series) and want to see how it’s all turned out, no matter who publishes it and under what name.

Granted, if it were titled “Mr. Pablum’s Peanut Butter Palace” or something similarly silly, I’d wonder who the hell was thinking up these game names and how the hell I could get a piece of THAT particular pie. I can think up dopey names all day, so I should at least be able to collect a paycheck for that…

Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention Vita: Here Comes The Time-Eater…

Nippon Ichi REALLY wants your money, Disgaea fans (and it looks as if they’re actually going to get it again, as usual). Yes, Indeed – April will be the cruelest month for stuff like grades, personal relationships and getting enough sleep. That and for those of you who still haven’t finished Disgaea 3 or 4 on the PS3, all this means is you’ve yet another great game to add to your pile of things to do. Then again, if you have that much time on your hands to be playing games this deep and ridiculously funny, you’re probably a VERY lazy Prinny that’s doing the most spectacular job of hiding from your taskmaster. Updates to follow, so stay tuned…

NISA Online Store Reveals Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2 Limited Edition

Or: Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2 Limited Edition: Gamindustri Savior Set (say THAT three times fast!) if you want the full title to take up space above your head for a few minutes before it vanishes. Anyway, as usual, NISA is pulling out all the stops to give fans a ton of cool omake goodies at a really amazing price point ($64.99!). Go pre-order yours HERE and remember, those cards offered in the Limited Edition can’t be found anywhere else!

Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland Prologue

Gust Inc.’s swan song for Nippon Ichi looks to be their best game to date in the long-running Atelier franchise. Sure, it’s a niche game, but it’s got a nicely sized fan base that snaps up every entry.  Check out the game’s official web site for more info and go pre-order a copy if you like what you see. I say absolutely let NISA know you’re one of those who’ll enjoy the game by getting it directly from their online shop as soon as possible. The game is set for a May 2012 launch, but if you’re getting the Prinny Bomb newsletter sent to your inbox, you’ll have a heads-up as to when pre-orderimg kicks off.

Hyperdimension Neptunia* Mk2 Trailer: Fan Service, Plus Tax (Where Applicable)

Yikes, Nippon Ichi is doing it again (and doing it again sooner than you think). Yup, the beloved (and mildly insane) Hyperdimension Neptunia is getting a sequel and yup, it’s looking like another otaku dream game come true. OK, I bought the first game and it baffled me mightily (I must be getting too old for certain things, eek!), but I just might give this sequel a chance just because the promised improvements look, well, promising!

As usual, NISA is pulling out the stops with a slick Limited Edition Premium Box at an excellent price direct from their Online Store (The best place to buy any Nippon Ichi games, I say). Yup, it’s NOW available for pre-order (as is the standard edition). Did I mention the NISA Online Store has FREE domestic shipping? No? well, it does!  Hmmm. I bet February 2012 can’t get here fast enough for some more of you, right?

*And yup, it SHOULD be Neptuniaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa *cough!* aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!, but NISA probably hates when I do that…

Cave Story 3D Goes Pre-order @ Nisa Online Store

Nippon Ichi Software America is finally taking pre-orders for Nicalis’ upcoming remake of one of the smartest retro platfomers ever created. Even with the updated 3D graphics, this is still a game I’d consider buying a 3DS for as a huge fan of the PC original as well as Pixel’s other games. The game ships out in November and NISA offers FREE shipping that’s fast and reliable, so definitely boogie on over to the NISA online store and while you’re there, check out their other fine products!

Disgaea 4 Pre-Orders In Full Swing – Which One Is Yours?

Decisions, decisions, decisions! NISA sure isn’t making it easy this time out, but no matter which of the three versions of the game you get, a winner is YOU. There’s the $50 Standard Edition that comes with the original soundtrack on a CD, but ten bucks more gets you the Premium Edition in a nice box with a softcover art book and a cute Fuka fugurine. If you’ve got money to burn, you can blow $120 and get the Premium Figure Set which contains the PE box, art book, soundtrack, Fuka figurine AND nine more exclusive Disgaea 4 figures. It’s enough to make an indecisive person really, really crazy, I say! Even worse, the pre-orders only go on until September 5 and the game ships out on September 6! Yaaaaah! All THAT and I haven’t even mentioned all the cool stuff you can do in this latest installment (that’s what the links are for)! I seriously can’t decide, but methinks I’ll stick with the Standard Edition just so I can eat a lot less cheap rice noodles later. Hey, I can get by on one meal a day if I really needed to…

Phantom Brave: The Hermuda Triangle Trailer Is A Hoot & A Half…

Nippon Ichi’s upcoming PSP super-enhanced “remake” of the classic PS2 strategy RPG is looking sweet and hilarious as ever in this trailer. I’ll need to go see if pre-orders have started on this one at the NISA online store, as I want my UMDs coming this way for as long as they still being made, grrrr!
