Today’s Humble Daily Bundle Is All Mixed Up In A Good Way. The Weekly Bundle? Just BUY IT!

Let’s see now, we’ve got goats escaping, a pair of retro RPGs that looks as if it was made in 1990 or so, an offbeat puzzle game with a very weird looking insect and a card battle game that’s quite addictive for almost anyone who picks it up. Yup, that’s what you get today PLUS two game soundtracks when you grab this Humble Daily Bundle. Pay what you want for the two Soulcaster games, six bucks or more gets you Escape Goat 2, but you should bump THAT up thirteen cents for Incredipede, I say. Or just pony up ten bucks or more and get everything and Ironclad Tactics, which should heel you busy for quite a spell.

As for that Humble Weekly Sale this week… Wow! Continue reading

Larian Studios Brings Some Holiday Cheer to The Year of the Dragon…

I got a few holiday-themed digital cards and videos in my packed inbox, but I like this one the best because it’s amusing, has real people in it along with a bit of game stuff and yes, you can sing along (as long as you keep it down and don’t wake the neighbors). Oh, yeah – you should probably buy one or two of Larian’s find RPGs for yourself or as a gift for a gamer you know. I’m just saying… it IS the holiday season and all. That and you don’t want some huffy dragon hanging out on your porch or windowsill glaring at you until you do so…

Divinity Anthology Collector’s Edition: Sheer Heaven For RPG Fans

Larian Studios has a keen sense of humor as you can see above, but this is one serious collection you may want to grab from the Larian Vault before it’s sold out completely. A measly thirty bucks gets you three great RPGs and a ton of bonus content, meaning you’ll be trapped inside your home this fall and winter, calling in sick from work or something similar. All the best excuses are taken, by the way – just tell the truth and maybe get your boss hooked on these games as well, I say.  Even though I own all three games on disc (and I have both versions of Divinity II on the Xbox 360), I’m sorely tempted to grab one of these CE packs before they vanish forever…

Anyway, click HERE to check out the complete listing of fun, fun stuff in this SIGNED retail (YES!) package that’s also available digitally (and unsigned) for those of you who like to pretend you have a game collection. Yeah, that’s right, I said it – you can take your Minority Report grabbing at air and pulling invisible files and stick that nonsense in the trash folder. Me, I want something that will fall on my hard head if I put it on the shelf wrong. Then again, I take care of my games, so fat chance of that happening…

October 16, people – get to the clicking and buying, already. Larian needs a new boat or car or string of polo ponies or something.

Divine Divinity Finally Drops Onto Steam (Yes, You Know What To Do)…

It’s here, it’s a mere six bucks and you should be playing this NOW. Although, gog.com users are probably chuckling away at this news because they’ve had access to the game for a bit longer as a DRM-free download, this is great news if you’re a dedicated Steam fan who’s always wanted to give Larian’s first RPG a shot. What’s it like, you ask? Well, go see for yourself, I say. If you like gorgeous artwork, a lengthy, challenging quest and want to play a game where you can lose yourself for too many hours in. That and it’s pretty funny in a few spots and some of the hidden areas and secrets are quite cool.

Today’s GOG.com Battle of the Games: Sacred Gold vs Divine Divinity – Larian’s Take Makes Perfect Sense

Of all the “battles” in gog.com’s ongoing brawl it out for a discount promotion, this one has to be the toughest call yet (well at least for me). Both games are absolute essentials for any core RPG fan’s library (don’t even THINK of mentioning the words “Diablo” and “Clone” here, as both SG and DD are more expansive in terms of a few core elements) and both will eat away at your free time once you start playing.

That said, a few folks at Larian Studios (divine Divinity) took a hard look at this battle and made a pretty obvious choice for their pick. Take a peek at the video above, go vote and buy the game that wins as well as the “loser” when the contest is over. No matter who wins or loses here, both games come highly recommended.
