UGLYDOLL & the Ave Venice Team Up For Some Cool Custom Chucks…

ugly-dolls-ninja-battyUsually, someone telling you you’ve got ugly shoes is a not so good thing to hear and can sometimes lead to minor to moderately serious medical issues when that shoe needs to be removed from assorted orifices post-negative unsolicited commentary.

Thankfully for those of you who’ve been on the receiving end of remarks about your footwear (or who’ve planted a boot up someone’s behind for making bad noises about your kicks) can get satisfaction (and a lot less problems sitting down for a week or so) thanks to UGLYDOLL, the Ave Venice and Converse. Check out their four brand new printed Chuck Taylor styles up for grabs for $90 each on the Ave’s website: meet Ninja Batty (above), OX, Ice-Bat and the too-cute to call ugly (unless you just HATE cute things with your permanent bad mood self) UGLYDOLL Flower Pattern (below), all waiting to wrap themselves around your feet for compliments galore.

Well, perhaps you’ll still have your shoes called UGLY, but at least that’s what they’re supposed to be called (halfway – but it’s a step up!) and yeah, the person saying that will me smiling instead of smirking, which means you’re being hit on and won’t need to let loose with the *boot!* action (well, unless that pest gets too persistent with the moon eyes and compliments on your feet)…

mimoco and UGLYDOLL Want You To Stub A Big Toe And Drop Your Wallet…

Or something like that… I actually stubbed my toe while doing that little dance I usually do when reading the email from mimoco and it still hurts (ouch!). ANYWAY, that email happened to be announcing this new MIMOBOT in the fun UGLYDOLL X MIMOBOT line of mimoco’s stylish USB drives and it’s hard to hop around in pain and type something that makes much sense. Then again, my posts NEVER make much sense if you stop and think about it too much. OK, I’ll take the easy way out and let the image below do the talking:

And of course, you DO know that clicking that image won’t make it get any bigger (I could have allowed this, but you’d probably either get scared or laugh yourself silly seeing a USB drive get so huge), but it WILL take you right to the mimoco site’s order page for it where you can drop some digital ducats on one of these (or more – there are only 2000 available, so leave some for the rest of the fans, please!) without lifting a leg to get up and head to a retail outlet just to find out this one’s all sold out (you can get one from the UGLYDOLL site as well). OK, it’s off to ice the toe and stop the hop. I need a nice seat, as I’m mighty beat!

mimoco Makes Up For Last Year’s April Fools Joke Gone Wild: Jar Jar Binks Lives!

social_JarJar_612x612OK, I missed this one last year, but I did hear from a friend who fell for it hard and will still rant about it if asked to retell the tale. Anyway, the company has announced a VERY limited edition MIMOBOT for the much-hated Star Wars Episode One: The Phantom Menace character, initially introduced as a 2012 April Fool’s joke that actually made some Star Wars fans a bit cranky.

This year, the company has gone and made the thing up for you guys, but the catch is… there are ONLY a mere 500 of them! Meaning they’ll probably be all gone as I type this (or by the end of the day) and you Jar Jar fans (wait, there are actually 500 of them? “Meesa no tink sooooo!”) will be chasing after me (and poor mimoco) with laser torches because you’ll think you’ve been had TWO years in a row! GET IT HERE, go wild with all the goodies included on the drive and feel free to Force Bounce around the room afterwards with a big grin on your face. Er, just don’t start asking for other obscure (or need to be obscure) characters from the films. I’m not sure mimoco wants to be remembered as the company that brought out a line of Star Wars Holiday Special Wookie Family MIMOBOTS… or DO they?

“Meesa tink Jar Jar should get a yeerly MEEMOBOT…” Oh shut up, Jar Jar (*Boot!*)

Toy Fair 2013: Mimoco Revives Dead Presidents As USB Drives, Ben Franklin’s Ghost Pissed Off…

TF2013_banner

GW_MIMOBOT AL_MIMOBOTI can hear the spinning coffin from here, as ol’ Ben is mighty upset. George Washington and Abe Lincoln get love from mimoco in these two cool limited edition MIMOBOT USB drives (available NOW), but he’s the main tech guy out of all the founding fathers what with his electrical kite flying hijinx, his sense of humor (Poor Richard’s Almanack!) and other er, “modern” things about the man. That and hey – he’s on the hundred dollar bill and look where the other two ended up on US currency. Obviously, Ben’s the MAN, so maybe you Fans of Franklin should bug mimoco to get with the program and get a BF drive on the site at some point. Still, I say pick either or both of these up just so they know you’re serious about waving the flag for Ben in the future.

Evil Controllers Wants YOU To Make Your Own Perfect Pad

The fine folks over at Evil Controllers have come up with a rather nice way for gamers to do their thing (go Evil, that is!): user-created controllers for the PS3 and Xbox 360. These would make a perfect gift for the gamer out there who knows what here or she wants in a controller, but can’t get that from a stock OEM model or some other custom controller site. If the quality on these new additions to Evil’s lineup are as good as their usual work, this could be the next big thing for the discriminating gamer who wants to spend a bit more and truly get what they pay for while saying they made it themselves (well, sort of). Check out the video above, then pop on over to the Evil Controllers site and have at it!

Mimoco’s MIMOBOT Collection Expands: The Dark Knight Rises & Return of the Jedi USB Flash Drives

You have to love Mimoco’s staying power, as despite the drop in memory prices over the years, the company is still going strong thanks to it’s fun line of 8GB to 64GB USB thumb drives that range from cool street art and anime flavors to their popular line of licensed DC Comics, Hello Kitty and yup, Star Wars-themed drives. Their latest collections are now ready for prime time and it’s a winner for fans of Episode Six and a certain Chris Nolan film that’s bound to blow the doors off the box office worldwide when it hits theaters later this month.

Of course, the company also has big plans to release a few VERY limited edition USB drives, so if you’re headed to this year’s San Diego Comic-Con or Star Wars Celebration VI, you’ll be able to get you hands on one of these awesome Biker Scout MIMOBOT drives (to the left, limited to 1000 units). For San Diego Comic-Con ONLY, there will be a mere 500 of these Bane USB drives (to the right, as if you needed to figure out who was who). Now, I;m not going to either event, but I’ll very most likely be headed to the next New York Comic-Con, whenever that is and of course, next year’s Toy Fair. Sooooo, Mimoco, what’s coming up for 2013, hmmmm? Inquiring minds want to know!
