Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection Launch Trailer

Yes, it’s here. And Yes, it’s a absolute must buy at a measly $39.99. Hell, if you happen to know someone with a 3DTV and no PS3, do them a favor and lug yours over to their house with a copy of this game and they’ll probably BUY their own PS3 afterward. Seriously, it’s THAT good.

TGS 2011: Resident Evil Revelations Trailer

Well, the whole helpless female vibe going on here is not exactly going to make the gal gamers too happy (nor anyone who hates this particular stereotype in gaming), but here it is. Nintendo 3DS owners are in store for another great-looking Resident Evil game with hopefully much better gameplay and multiple save slots this time. I guess we’ll have to see when the game ships now, won’t we?

Tales Of The Abyss Trailers Are Another Fine Reason To Snap Up A 3DS

Yes, even if you’ve played the game previously, Namco Bandai’s upcoming remake looks good enough to make me want to go through it all over again. Given that the original can be pricey once you track it down, it’s nice to see the 3DS getting more quality titles fans want to see appear on the handheld whether they use the 3D effect to its fullest or not.

Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Classics Trailer (It’s Art, Alright)

A pair of classics that always get mentioned whenever the subject of games as art pops up, this HD remastering of the two Team Ico titles will please longtime fans of the originals as well as those new to both works. The added bonus of (optional) 3D is another excellent addition that enhances the experience and overall, this is looking to be one of the best deals PS3 owners are getting this year. Now, if only there was a demo of The Last Guardian somewhere on the Blu-Ray. That would indeed be pretty spectacular given the huge interest in the still in development game…

Gamescom 2011: Uncharted 3 Trailer Is Pure Thrilling Brilliance

Every new piece of footage or screenshot makes Nathan Drake’s latest adventure clearly one of the best, most polished game experiences to date on ANY platform. Naughty Dog is at the top of their game and you and gamers will be on the edge of their seats whether or not they play this on in HD or 3D (which I hear is outstanding ans some of the best in a game, ever). This one’s going to walk away with a TON of very well deserved awards in every category. I’d say they’re going to have to create a new category this year for a number of these upcoming releases simply due to the fact that so many great games are coming that some will get shut out of voting because there’s not enough room for every single one.

Tough Love: I’d Feel Sorry For Nintendo If They Were Smarter…

Call me crazy, but it looks as if history is repeating itself, this time a bit louder. The last time Nintendo tried to capitalize on the 3D “trend”, we ended up with the Virtual Boy, an interesting yet flawed device that tanked because it was too unwieldy, initially too expensive and only had a handful of monochrome titles released with few others cancelled or shipped out in small quantities. It landed in the discount bins at rental shops like Blockbuster and retail stores and is now a rather cool collectible that showed Nintendo does indeed make the occasional mistake. Flash forward to this week's news that the 3DS is getting a 32% price chop (which resulted in Nintendo's stock dropping by 21% as of this writing) and yes, thanks to a number of high profile game delays and cancellations, it's a case of here we go again… almost.Read more »

ICO/Shadow of the Colossus Classics Trailer

Nostalgia usually means your head is about to be kicked in the ass by wistful memories of something that wasn’t so great, but in this case, it’s absolutely fantastic to see these two gems coming back for a new generation of gamers (including too many that never actually owned either game). The HD and optional 3D are fantastic, the soundtracks are perfection and that mix of hand-animation and superb gameplay will keep these in your collection for quite some time. Hell, I still own both originals and definitely plan to snap up this collection once it’s out at retail.

Nintendo "Officially" Announces New Console For 2012

Although news (and a few images) have been leaking out for a little while now about the successor to the Wii, an
official statement from the company’s financial report has been popping up all over the Internet today officially announcing the new console will be shown (and possibly playable) at E3 this year. Codenamed ‘Project Cafe’, the new console is rumored to feature HD visuals that rival the PS3 and Xboxhttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif 360 along with an innovative new controller with a 6.2″ touch screen that enables downloading and playing games through the console without turning on your TV!

The new system is expected to launch in 2012, but no pricing, features or software announcements have been made yet. This is certainly exciting news for Nintendo fans and gamers in general, as there’s little doubt that we’ll all be seeing something innovative and extremely user friendly very shortly. Of course, we’ll also see the Wii and its games drop in price, so it’ll be interesting to see how his affects those numbers, as traditionally, “dying” consoles get a spike in sales as budget-minded families seize the opportunity to grab up systems and games for kids who care not a whit for flashy graphics and expensive new controllers. Time for another poll, I guess…

MLB 11: The Show "Yankee Killer" Trailer Rubs It In…

Yeah, yeah yeah, click play to see The Yankess blow it all over again. Thanks Sony… now I have to read email from folks pointing me to the same trailer I just posted as they chuckle away gleefully at all that payroll going down the drain last year. Feh. We’ll see what happens this year (hell, if anything, a virtual roster might be a better team in terms of the weakened pitching that’s plagues the club for a while) – just you wait…

MotorStorm Apocalypse 3D Trailer (Now, In Stunning 2D!)

Even without the insane 3D effect making your eyes pop out of your head saying “oooooooh”, this trailer for Evolution Studios’ upcoming PS3 exclusive racer is just plain spectacular, over the top insanity. Keep this one on your radars, folks – the game is really turning out to be a total blast. Now if only Sony would revive and give Evolution the Rally Cross license and let them have at it, I’d be an even happier gamer!
