Yes, it’s TOO cute, but according to those folks at Disney who now own everything Star Wars, most likely NOT at all part of the new canon they’re creating (boo!). Chronicle also has a free activity kit you can grab PLUS a cool facebook contest for an excellent Star Wars prize set that includes books and some really cute maquettes!

Well, you’ll just need to buy it and find out, correct? Everyone loves surprises, right? Well, unless it’s Jar-Jar Binks staring at you when you open that Mystery Package… Eeek.

Anyway, there’s a lot more going on allll over the internet to-day, but I’m tied up in a few other things and just cobbled together some of what but busting my inbox’ back. Anyway, go consume mass quantities or something and… oh, you know how the rest of that goes!

“Oh My!” mimoco’s Mr. Sulu MIMOBOT Has My Phasers Set To Stumped…

blog_640x290_

Captain’s Log, Stardate 90994.46

Um… OK, kids… I got nuthin’ today. I was going to to a chuckle-filled double (or tribble)-entendre packed post about this cool new Mr. Sulu MIMIBOT USB Drive (available in 8 to 128GB sizes and chock full of awesome Star Trek content), but I think every possible GOOD joke has been thought up already by George Takei and I’d like to stay on his good side. Hey! you don’t need me to be funny to know that this is a really cool bit (well, a whole lot of gigabits, har har) of Trek collectible that’s useful and ready to save your red-shirted behind from mortal data dangers.

sulu3up

Yeah, you know you want one, but you need to beam your up NOW as there are only 1000 of these and I bet George has at least one on his shelf already. I know, I know… just don’t get all “That Which Survives” around that MIMOBOT (or George, for that matter). That’s kinda creepy…

BUY THIS! mimoco & Lucasfilm Say “May the 4th Be With You” With An R2-A6 Drive

R2-A6_press_release_725x237

OK, so I’m a wee bit slow. It took me a while to figure out this whole May 4th thing and the Star Wars connection. All this time I thought it was because George Lucas had a speech impediment. There’s nothing wrong with a little lisp, mind you, but there’s probably something up with YOU if you miss out on this cool SUPER limited edition R2-A6 MIMOBOT, available NOW at mimoco’s online shop.
3UP_R2A6_Photo_watermark

Like other MIMOBOT USB drives, this one comes in a few storage sizes (this one’s available in 8 to 128GB models) and also comes LOADED with cool bonuses such as desktop icons, avatars, wallpapers and more. The only thing you won’t get are any Imperial battle station plans, as those are in another droid entirely. Um, I WOULD say “this isn’t the droid you’re looking for”, but mimoco’s really nice PR person would probably beat me up (or hire a bounty hunter to do the deed). I’ll stay on her good side, as I have a “No Blasters!” rule around here that’s strictly enforced by me staying out of trouble. Anyway, go get yourself a new (and VERY useful) droid. You look as if you could use a bit more organization in your life, I say…

mimoco and UGLYDOLL Want You To Stub A Big Toe And Drop Your Wallet…

Or something like that… I actually stubbed my toe while doing that little dance I usually do when reading the email from mimoco and it still hurts (ouch!). ANYWAY, that email happened to be announcing this new MIMOBOT in the fun UGLYDOLL X MIMOBOT line of mimoco’s stylish USB drives and it’s hard to hop around in pain and type something that makes much sense. Then again, my posts NEVER make much sense if you stop and think about it too much. OK, I’ll take the easy way out and let the image below do the talking:

big_toe

And of course, you DO know that clicking that image won’t make it get any bigger (I could have allowed this, but you’d probably either get scared or laugh yourself silly seeing a USB drive get so huge), but it WILL take you right to the mimoco site’s order page for it where you can drop some digital ducats on one of these (or more – there are only 2000 available, so leave some for the rest of the fans, please!) without lifting a leg to get up and head to a retail outlet just to find out this one’s all sold out (you can get one from the UGLYDOLL site as well). OK, it’s off to ice the toe and stop the hop. I need a nice seat, as I’m mighty beat!

mimoco Makes Up For Last Year’s April Fools Joke Gone Wild: Jar Jar Binks Lives!

social_JarJar_612x612OK, I missed this one last year, but I did hear from a friend who fell for it hard and will still rant about it if asked to retell the tale. Anyway, the company has announced a VERY limited edition MIMOBOT for the much-hated Star Wars Episode One: The Phantom Menace character, initially introduced as a 2012 April Fool’s joke that actually made some Star Wars fans a bit cranky.

This year, the company has gone and made the thing up for you guys, but the catch is… there are ONLY a mere 500 of them! Meaning they’ll probably be all gone as I type this (or by the end of the day) and you Jar Jar fans (wait, there are actually 500 of them? “Meesa no tink sooooo!”) will be chasing after me (and poor mimoco) with laser torches because you’ll think you’ve been had TWO years in a row! GET IT HERE, go wild with all the goodies included on the drive and feel free to Force Bounce around the room afterwards with a big grin on your face. Er, just don’t start asking for other obscure (or need to be obscure) characters from the films. I’m not sure mimoco wants to be remembered as the company that brought out a line of Star Wars Holiday Special Wookie Family MIMOBOTS… or DO they?

“Meesa tink Jar Jar should get a yeerly MEEMOBOT…” Oh shut up, Jar Jar (*Boot!*)

WIN FREE STUFF! Or: Cobra Command (& mimoco) STILL Wants YOU!

COBRAAAAA!OK, SIDE CHOSEN! Now that I’ve teamed up mimoco to go completely EEEEEVIL… I’m being nice and giving something cool away. Er, that’s HOW it’s supposed to be! Long live COBRA! Anyway, here’s the deal: I have ONE of these awesome Cobra Commander MIMOBOT USB Drives to send ONE lucky (and EVIL!) reader, so you need to be really creative and sneaky to get this excellent goodie.  How creative and sneaky? Well, actually tracking down the other followers of this site and arranging for their untimely demises is a bit too extreme (and HEY, silly evil person – I need MORE readers, not LESS, grrr!), but I’m sure you can some up with something that will surprise everyone. As some inspiration (sort of), here’s some Cobra Commander fun from G.I. Joe: Retaliation:

(BIG, FAT Hint: NOT wasting time sewing up a fancy costume or putting on makeup to make that “winning” video when simply being a follower of the site, hitting the Leave A Reply button and posting that you’re interested works extremely well and in FACT, will actually surprise everyone expecting a more elaborate means of entry!) Anyway, I’ll RANDOMLY select one winning post, contact you via email for your mailing address, which MUST BE IN THE U.S. of A. grrr! (Seriously, though) and ship your prize out next week. The Cobra Commander MIMOBOT features 8GB of storage and comes packed with loads of classic G.I. Joe stuff (comics, videos, wallpapers and MORE). You’ll also get a $10 emusic card you can redeem (that’s up to 20 songs, kids) at the emusic shop and two mimoco stickers you can put anywhere you like (not the cat or dog, though!). And hey, if you don’t win, you can always poke around the mimoco site and BUY something. They may now be EEEEVIL, but that’s hard work and they deserve to take your money in exchange for quality fun stuff you won’t find elsewhere!

Long and boring official rules below the jump… Continue reading

Toy Fair 2013: Mimoco Revives Dead Presidents As USB Drives, Ben Franklin’s Ghost Pissed Off…

TF2013_banner

GW_MIMOBOT AL_MIMOBOTI can hear the spinning coffin from here, as ol’ Ben is mighty upset. George Washington and Abe Lincoln get love from mimoco in these two cool limited edition MIMOBOT USB drives (available NOW), but he’s the main tech guy out of all the founding fathers what with his electrical kite flying hijinx, his sense of humor (Poor Richard’s Almanack!) and other er, “modern” things about the man. That and hey – he’s on the hundred dollar bill and look where the other two ended up on US currency. Obviously, Ben’s the MAN, so maybe you Fans of Franklin should bug mimoco to get with the program and get a BF drive on the site at some point. Still, I say pick either or both of these up just so they know you’re serious about waving the flag for Ben in the future.

Mimoco’s MIMOBOT Collection Expands: The Dark Knight Rises & Return of the Jedi USB Flash Drives

You have to love Mimoco’s staying power, as despite the drop in memory prices over the years, the company is still going strong thanks to it’s fun line of 8GB to 64GB USB thumb drives that range from cool street art and anime flavors to their popular line of licensed DC Comics, Hello Kitty and yup, Star Wars-themed drives. Their latest collections are now ready for prime time and it’s a winner for fans of Episode Six and a certain Chris Nolan film that’s bound to blow the doors off the box office worldwide when it hits theaters later this month.

Of course, the company also has big plans to release a few VERY limited edition USB drives, so if you’re headed to this year’s San Diego Comic-Con or Star Wars Celebration VI, you’ll be able to get you hands on one of these awesome Biker Scout MIMOBOT drives (to the left, limited to 1000 units). For San Diego Comic-Con ONLY, there will be a mere 500 of these Bane USB drives (to the right, as if you needed to figure out who was who). Now, I;m not going to either event, but I’ll very most likely be headed to the next New York Comic-Con, whenever that is and of course, next year’s Toy Fair. Sooooo, Mimoco, what’s coming up for 2013, hmmmm? Inquiring minds want to know!

Toy Fair 2012: Mimoco’s Mimomicros Make Memory Managment Much More Managable Monetarily

Mimoco’s super-cool line of original, crossover and licensed character MIMOBOT flash drives has always been a favorite of mine, but even with the price of memory dropping and USB 3.0 devices here and on the way, not everyone can afford to collect these supremely stylish USB storage solutions. The company’s MIMOMICRO line (set for a March 2012 launch) takes care of that issue entirely by allowing users to drop their own microSD cards into a custom drive that, at $12.95 makes for an inexpensive, nifty conversation piece. My favorite model from Toy Fair was The Millennium Falcon MIMOMICRO from the company’s Star Wars line. There will also be five other characters to choose from (C-3PO, Chewbacca, Darth Vader and Yoda), plus a trio of DC Comics MIMOMICRO drives that Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman fans will absolutely want to snap up.

If money is no object, well, you’re in luck, as Mimoco also has some sweet new MIMOBOT drives on the way, including an Albert Einstein drive that’s pretty cool and funny (kind of like the professor was, from what I’ve read about him), a bunch of original characters and more licensed drives than you can shake a memory stick at.

Alrighty then, I’ve done my part here- now, go click on one of those links above before I come up with more awful puns or another terrible title that uses the same letter to start off each word.
