SIn City’s Marv Gets The Eric So Treatment (And Is Still Quite A Scary Guy)…

WANTED!
Marv 4Dark Horse Comics and toy design master Eric So want YOU to grab this very limited edition (950 pieces) and very cool stylized Marv vinyl figure, which is set for a September 10 release, not long after the August 22 premiere of Sin City: A Dame to Kill For at a theater near you. Each Marv is 13 inches tall, individually hand painted, has a removable cross and chain and in a neat touch, you get a bunch of sticky bandages you can apply to his handsome mug. Well, I think he’s handsome… in that his mother dropped him off a roof too many times but he never stopped breathing kind of way.

Anyway, go bug your comics shop guy or gal if you want one of these. You better find a nice place to put it, too. Nobody puts Marv in the corner. For long…

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For Trailer #3: Come Meet The Folks! Or Else They’ll Come Meet YOU…

Nice. I’m out of time today at the library as it rushes to close, but enjoy – back to edit in some humor later tonight… or not. Hey, this film will sell itself, so it really doesn’t need me making any dumb jokes at its expense, right? Well, I’m typing this NOW because there’s a big ugly guy with a VERY bandaged face pointing a VERY big fist at my head and I don’t want to get punched in the head by that VERY big fist because I need my brain unscrambled to write this post and others. Heh. Okay Marv, happy now? Good.

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For Trailer #2: Looks Can Be Deceiving…

Yeah, to the untrained eyeball, this LOOKS like Trailer #1, but it’s not. Anyway, I liked the first film a lot, so I’ll most likely see this one as well, although I really prefer the graphic novels over any of the movies. They’re worth a read even if you don’t like comics just for Frank Miller’s dark, dark take on the crime genre and how some of these anti-heroes and heroines make themselves likable and unlikable as you get to meet and know them (for however briefly some are around). Any-way, yet another movie added to my potential hit list (“hit” being a good thing this time)…

Alien Abduction: (So Far) This One’s Not For The Birds…

(thanks, Joblomovienetwork!)
Hmmm. Usually, these modern sci-fi/horror flicks don’t phase me one bit because it’s all the same thing they try for and often fail at miserably on a few fronts. I do like what I see here so far from Alien Abduction, although I may be the only one who finds films about alien abductions pretty dull in general (sorry, Barney and Betty Hill!). That said, this is one to watch for me when it suddenly pops up on cable a few months from now. The sci-fi/horror genre certainly needs a good kick to the pants, so here’s to hoping this one delivers the goods and then some…

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For Trailer: Miller & Rodriguez, Partners In Crime…

(thanks, JoBlo Movie Trailers

Oh, yeah. I loved Sin City, so this trailer for the follow up made me grin a wee bit too much. This is good even though it took so long for this to get made that some of the principals who were in the previous film look a little long in the tooth even with a bunch of prosthetic makeup and fine fancy lighting doing their thing so well. Still, it’s all good because Miller and Rodriguez are doing it up as it should be done and all is right in the world (well, in that weird way things roll in Sin City). Anyway, August 22 is when this one’s let loose like a pack of starving dogs, so make sure you’re in its path and welcoming that first bite…
