New Mass Effect 2 Character Revealed

Meet Subject Zero… don’t ogle her tattooed glory too long or she’s the last thing you’ll see… and no, you probably won’t die with a smile on your face, either. Mass Effect 2’s latest character reveal is this deadly lady who has “been around, ran with gangs, wiped out some gangs.”  Yikes.

Updated intel from BioWare notes this:

Now Shipping: Twice the Horror (or Obscure, Meet Dead Space)…

Two horror-themed titles have shipped for next week’s big release hoedown doozy of a game avalanche. There are also a ton of cool games in other different genres coming as well next Tuesday (and onward), so here’s a quick heads-up for you on some of what I’m looking forward to:

The Beatles: Rock Band Final Song List/Pricing

“All together now:” Who’s not even the least bit curious about how this game will affect the interest level in both the music games genre and video gaming in general. Anyway, here’s a chunk of the press release that just landed in my inbox. Gallery to come in a separate post.

Dead Space Extraction Goes Gold

EA has announced that Dead Space Extraction for the Nintendo Wii has gone gold and should be in stores on September 29, 2009. Also announced was a nice bonus: pre-ordering the game at selected retailers will give gamers access to four of the game’s ten challenge modes for solo or co-op play. The Wii exclusive game is a prequel to the events of last year’s huge sci-fi/horror action hit on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Dead Space and was developed by Eurocom with a huge assist from  Visceral Games.

Gallery: The Saboteur

Did you ever find yourself walking home from a meeting, take a wrong turn down a dark alleyway (well, there WAS that ‘Detour’ sign with an arrow pointing right, so I detoured) and next thing you know, you wake up a short time later in a rumpled heap with a folder of screenshots in your hand and a hastily scrawled note that says: “éditez ces images, svp – des mercis, Devlin.” taped to your forehead?

No? Well, that happened to moi last night. I find out later that had I merely taken a left turn then three blocks to the subway and gone straight home, I could have picked up the same screens from one of EA’s helpfully handy PR folks and NOT get bonked on the head. Damn.

Need to find out who this “Devlin” guy is soon and give him the what-for, grrrrr
