Here you go: SIX nice images for your PC using game and movie assets – thanks, D3! These images should fit 1280 x1024 monitors. The game ships on October 20th for the PS2, DS/DSi and Wii. As huge Osamu Tezuka (and of course, Astro Boy) fans, I’m hoping to nab a few reviewables so we can see how it’s turned out.

In Astro Boy: The Video Game, players become the iconic hero, Astro Boy, and take to the streets and skies on an epic adventure to save Metro City from the clutches of the evil President Stone and his robot army. Utilizing Astro’s entire arsenal of iconic weapons and abilities, players will battle hordes of fearsome foes including some never-before-seen enemies across Metro City and the mysterious Surface.

Oops. I forgot to add this film trailer to the Astro Boy: The Video Game post, so here you go. Cool, huh? When I first saw the new outfit a few weeks back, I wasn’t sure I’d like the Gap-ified new “‘tween” look he’d gotten. However, in retrospect it works a lot better for 2009 than the shirtless little boy in short pants that many folks my age grew up watching in glorious black & white back in the day…

Still, I can hear the more hardcore Tezuka purists outside screaming for my scalp in the background… How the hell did they get here so fast?

Astro Boy Game Taps Kristen Bell For Voice Cast

Never have friends over when you’re trying to work. As I was typing the original version of the above headline, I hear a loud voice from behind me “ASTRO BOY TAPS KRISTEN BELL…?!!” then a big hearty horse laugh.
