Something Old, Something New (Or, One GOOD Thing About Digital Games)…

torchlightWell, well, well. Digital games are good for something after all. I’d purchased an inexpensive boxed copy of Torchlight off eBay a few years back from an overseas seller and it actually arrived quickly and ran just fine. It wasn’t until after playing it for a week and coming across some text in another language that I had the thought it wasn’t a legal version (despite the official looking Microsoft hologram on the slipcase) and I wanted to support Runic Games and all their hard work. Shortly afterward, I ended up buying Torchlight again, this time directly from the Runic site. However, I wasn’t able to download it thanks to my crap home connection (the reason why I sought out a physical copy in the first place). Of course, after that, Encore put out a disc version in the US and yep, I bought one of those as well. Torchlight II Gets GUTS, Goes on Sale Temporarily…

torchlight II Runic Games’ hit action RPG (and Diablo III killer to some out there), Torchlight II has finally gotten its GUTS level editor up and running for public use and to celebrate this, the game is now a mere $9.99 (!), making it an even better deal. Hell, even at its normal $20 price point, it’s an incredible value, but half-off means more people jumping in to see what the fuss is all about, and yep – you should dive in as well. And you’d better act FAST, as that 50% off deal ONLY lasts until April 08, 2013 at 10am PDT.

What, you’re still here? GO get downloading and make with the monster slaying for fun and profit already! And if you’re feeling creative and have some GUTS, why not show off your skills and make up a mod of your own to share?

Torchlight II Website Relaunched (Diablo III Feels A Slight Chill)…

Nice new look? Check! Awesome new screens and wallpapers? Check! Updates about some pretty cool happenings in the busy community? Check! All I need now is a copy of the game and I’m all set to not be heard from for a while as I delve into those dungeons. Hopefully, we’ll see a console release at some point as well, as a ton of gamers got to play the first game when it appeared on consoles and got hooked in. I still go back to the first game from time to time, but I need to set an alarm so I can be jolted into getting away from those dungeons. After an hour or so, it’s impossible to stop playing!
