Yup, I’m, still buried in Skyrim up to my nostrils and a few more games popped up this past weekend and yesterday to review. It’s weird to go from dungeon delving to lightning-paced arcade fighting and augmented reality ghost-hunting, but such is the life of the intrepid explorer-type. Back in a bit…

Not Quite A Slow Week, Just A Busy One…

Hey! I don’t review every game as soon as it comes out (I don’t always get pre-release review copies) and I’m a bit backlogged, so some of those already known to be huge sellers that don’t need my thumbs up, down or sideways are on the back burner. Currently, I’m working on some recent stuff: Dark Souls, Sonic Generations, some indie PC stuff, a Wii game or two and few other things in the inbox. A PS3 copy of Skyrim will be here on Monday and I believe I have Uncharted 3 on the horizon as well.Too many previews are also in the works once I can get in a few hours to edit and add images. I think there’s sleep planned in my schedule as well, but with too many games coming out and no time machine, don’t bet on it…
Please Stand By…

Ah, Mondays… I’m kicking some mild computer issues around at the moment, which is why no posts yesterday and today (so far). I’ll be back with a few updates as in reviews of GoldenEye: Reloaded (buy it), Sonic Generations (buy it), Dragon ball Z: UT (if you’re a not too picky DBZ fan, buy it) and some other updates. Meanwhile, back to fiddling around with some files and stuff…
I’m Cheap, But Games Aren’t. Still, There’s Work To Do…

Well, I don’t get ALL my games for free*, folks. Had to shell out for Dark Souls, but that’s OK, as it’s one of those games that’s worth paying full price for. Fortunately, I managed to find a copy of Collector’s Edition for the same price as the standard version (as it SHOULD be – it’s vastly overpriced on eBay already!). I also have a copy of Star Odyssey on the way (finally). The game only got a SUPER limited print run of a mere 600 copies and mine was paid for back in July. Some production issues slowed the manufacturing process, but those have been dealt with and hooray, I get to dig out my Sega Genesis after far too long.
By the way, getting a game or anything else for free NEVER guarantees an automatic good review. I’m going to be fair and honest about what I write no matter how I get anything sent my way.
Games, Games, Games (& More Games)…

Just finished Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Impact (not bad for a kid’s game) and am working on that review as well as one for Dragon Ball Z Ultimate Tenkaichi Z (also pretty good). GoldenEye: Reloaded should be completed and posted this weekend and the mystery package Sega sent along that I missed because I stepped out to the post office to pick up MORE games should be boomeranging back in a few hour from UPS. OK, who needs sleep? Not me, folks! Keep the games coming and I’m a happy reviewer. Yeah, the backlog is already hitting, but I’m a multi-tasker! Which reminds me, I need to register for Toy Fair, as well. Too much going on, as usual…
GoldenEye: Reloaded Also Makes My Day…

A bit of serendipity (of sorts). As I was mooning over the GTA V trailer, my PS3 review copy of GoldenEye: Reloaded shows up. Looks as if the stuff I was planning to post (new Max Payne 3 screens, a quick note on UbiSoft acquiring Red Lynx and some other miscellany) will have to wait a few hours while I strap on my Move and Navigation Controllers for a bit. This should be fun. Back in a bit…

Hey, kids! My regularly scheduled Sunday night The Walking Dead review is going up later today (Monday) as I was playing War LOTR: in the North in order to finish that review in time for the embargo to lift. No spoilers here other than to say I like the game. A lot. Anyway, if you saw the show last night, discuss: that Shane is turning into a right bastard, isn’t he? Poor Otis certainly didn’t deserve what he got, that’s for sure…
Snow Day! Well, I’m In For The Weekend Anyway…

Yeah, it’s snowing in NYC two days before Halloween and it’s sticking. Nice. Good thing I only had a trip to the post office to get done and a bag of rice to buy. I’m in all day after that, folks. Fortunately, I have The Lord of the Rings: War in the North to keep me busy. VERY busy, as the game is pretty darn huge. More on how huge on Tuesday…
Back in a bit. I still have some more post-NYCC Capcom impressions to write up (YES, you should absolutely put Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City on your must have lists) as well as a ton of other things. Maybe even a cool giveaway if you’re good… But that’s for later…
Minor Update (The Remix)
Status
1. Bill Gates, R.I.P. – I found out while I was coming back home from an event and also heard one of the more interesting reactions to his passing from a total stranger (who’s not a user of anything Apple-branded). More on that comment once I think about how to present it so I don’t get beat up.
2. Namco Bandai was in NYC yesterday and had some terribly FUN games I need to write stuff about. That’s on the plate as soon as I can get to it (this weekend).
2a. Xseed Games now has an online store! Free shipping over $20 (CA residents have to pay sales tax on any purchases, though), a small, but NICE selection of games and cool T-shirts and what looks like another great place to get quality titles without dealing with certain retail chains.
3. YES, I’ll still be fixing up those older posts. Thanks to a few folks for emailing me to note there are some chopped off posts here. I’m just tackling the restoration as I get to them. The oldest posts from 2009 and I think some of 2010 are intact thanks to me originally posting them as single column articles with no breaks. When I started to continue posts with links is where the problem started.
4. YES, I’ll also be fixing the galleries. Since I can’t re-size the blog template, I need to manually rescale each image so they fit better on the page. It’s a pain in the butt, but it has to be done but by bit, takes time and I hate it, but oh well…
5. NYCC is coming up next weekend and my mailbox is STUFFED with event invites. I’m going through these now and trying to decide what to cover. So far, some nice games are coming to the show, so I’m going to be getting some hands-on time with a few of 2012’s big releases as well as a few of this year’s crop of too many cool games.
That is all for now, I think. I need to get to bed, as I have a longer day tomorrow. Oh, wait – it’s already tomorrow? Crap. Off to get about 5 hours of sleep, then!
Hmmm… This Is Going To Take A Bit Longer Than I Thought…

Eek. It looks as if the migration didn’t go ALL smoothly, as only the first part of EVERY post over one page was brought over. Oops. I need to go through every single old post and add the rest of the content from Blogger, tweaking the layout for EACH post as I go. Yikes. Well, no use griping about it… off to get some sleep now before jumping back on here and fixing what’s broken.
