Devil May Cry HD Collection Rolls Out Today For PS3, 360

Hear that loud screechy wailing sound? It’s a bunch of folks who’ve already played these games to death cheering that they get to do it all over again, whee! Just kidding. Anyway, Capcom’s got those folks by the nose (and has for years), but now they need to bend those noses down from their turned up positions and point them all to Ninja Theory’s upcoming DmC so they can see and play something that takes a different look and Dante’s past. There’s nothing wrong with nostalgia at all, kids… except when you let it cloud your heads so much that you refuse to want to even try something different and then complain that games never do anything new. Remember this.

DmC “The Secret” Trailer Shows Off In Progress Hops & Chops…

For a game still in development, DmC is looking pretty spectacular in my book. Ninja Theory is working hard on this one despite some awfully annoying “fans” out there of the first four games giving them grief about a few too many things they needn’t worry about. Sometimes change is good, people. That, and even though this is an alternate take on the character’s origin you may not care for, I’d say the developer’s forging their own version of Dante’s younger days is the best thing the franchise needs. In any event, I’m hoping some of these irate fools lay off the dev team when the game is released and starts getting solid ratings. Of course, some of those folks will NEVER be satisfied OR wish Ninja Theory any success at all, so I say ignoring these naysayers and their constant griping is all for the best. Not so amusingly enough, they want a “better” game while not having even seen anything CLOSE to a final version, but I sure as hell don’t see any of them applying for jobs at Capcom or any other game companies…

DmC “Escape” Gameplay Trailer Shakes Things Up A Bit

Excellent in-progress footage from the upcoming Devil May Cry prequel shows off Ninja Theory’s skills quite well, I’d say. Amusingly enough, the first thing I thought of when watching this footage was that old Police song “When The World Is Running Down, You Make The Best Of What’s Still Around”. Of all the franchise reboots coming next year and onward, this one’s in my short list as one to definitely watch out for. I want to see their take on Dante’s younger days not only in terms of action sequences like this, but also for how they’ll tell the tale. Anyone who’s played and enjoyed any of Ninja Theory’s other games KNOWS they’re amazing storytellers who know their way around dialog and acting when it comes to the memorable characters they’ve created.

Gamescom 2011: DmC Trailer – Ninja Theory Does It Right (Yet Still Gets No Respect)

Yikes. As much hard work as developer Ninja Theory has done on their upcoming game, diehard Dante fans are doing nothing but pooping on their parade with some of the nastiest comments I;ve seen. Look, kids, the franchise wore out its welcome by the fourth game in the series, so it’s obvious that going back to his beginnings when he was a younger less talented punk makes sense. Let’s see him as a dark-haired emo kid coming up in the world and discovering his destiny. As anyone who’s actually played and enjoyed a Ninja Theory game KNOWS, this team has a way with crafting stories through solid writing and direction as well as innovative action sequences that make their games a blast to play. So, pipe down and at LEAST wait for a demo before you give yourselves embolisms. Then again, clearing out the bile-filled fools from the gamer landscape means a bit more peace and quiet, so if you want to pop all the veins in your head at once, go on ahead. Me, I love what NT is up to and can’t wait for some hands-on time…
