Bullying certainly isn’t new, nor a “phenomenon” at all. Hell, I was bullied over 40 years ago and a few times after that in a few schools, but I managed to overcome the stress of those incidents over time thanks in part to an immersion into gaming, art and a few other hobbies. Living is the best revenge against the evil ones out there, I say. Sadly, technology has actually greatly enabled those who make the lives of millions of others miserable on a daily basis and in fact, access to it has allowed some of the more daringly deluded types who pick on others to use the Internet as a means of spreading their misplaced rage and energy in every direction. Is there a way to stop this by making them see the errors of their ways or is fighting back never a decent solution? Questions, questions. Papo & Yo Comes to Steam (And Yes, It’s On Sale For A Few Days More)…
Oops (again!). I’d not even realized Papo & Yo was on Steam (for PC!) as of a few days ago until I did that article below on Among the Sleep. Anyway, if your PC or laptop can run this one and you’re a fan of offbeat stuff with a personal touch, BUY THIS GAME! New to the PC version are nicely updated visuals and Steam Achievements, and yes, you can (and should) use a controller to play. As you can see, the game looks quite lovely running on a higher resolution than an SD or cheaper model HD television:
Until April 28, 2013, this one’s on sale for $13.49 and is worth every penny. You can also pay a few bucks more ($16.99) and grab the game’s excellent soundtrack so your ears can be as entertained as your eyes.
Video Game Appreciation 101: Papo & Yo Dev Diaries Let The Music Do The Talking
Minority Media’s sleeper PSN game has a great soundtrack that reacts to what you’re doing (or not doing) in the game in some interesting ways. Here are looks (and sounds) at how the team did the music and how well it’s integrated into the final product. Yes, this is a Video Game Appreciation 101 class – the test is you buying and playing the game to see and hear the results.
Papo & Yo Developer Diary #1: Fantastic Realities, Favelas And Happy Monsters…
Minority Media’s PS3 exclusive is coming soon and it’s absolutely one of those games that needs to be played (despite only being available over PSN, grrr!). Here’s a look at the first dev diary as well as a brief post over at the PlayStation Blog from one of the nicest people in this industry you’ll ever meet, Minority’s Creative Director, Vander Cabellero. Hey, Sony! Here’s a suggestion (again): Slap this game and Journey onto a disc with Outland and maybe some demos (Starhawk, GOW: Ascension, et cetera), get it out at a decent price point and make a small mint from those who don’t yet have/want/use PSN accounts!
