Well, wow. The Game Atelier has been busy and quiet for a bit, but there’s the reason why above. Monster Boy And The Cursed Kingdom is looking even more phenomenal and according to publisher FDG Entertainment, will be coming to PS4 and Xbox One first, followed by PC and possibly, a Nintendo console (according to NintendoLife). No speculation here on that latter point, but at least two versions of this one will be played here at DAF HQ.

  1. So, is this one meant to be another story with Shion (from WB in Monster World), or does it take place after Monster World IV with a new hero?

Or…Is it some sort of enhanced reimagining of Wonder Boy III: Dragon’s Trap?

    • That’s a good question or three. Well, it’s hard to say. Between this and the Wonder Boy game also in the works, think canon is going out a few windows in favor of just having fun. But, we’ll find out more soon on both titles…

      • Well, sure. I mean, the canon is pretty loose and the games only have vague connections (Mecha Dragon/Aliens and Shion being referenced in MW4 in a book you find).

However, it looks like it has a lot of elements from Dragon’s Trap. I guess maybe they could be taking the popular parts from the various games and rolling them into one fun romp?
