Take that as you will, but Marvel fans have been clamoring for a LEGO game with their favorites for years, so this way too short teaser trailer is giving them a reason to bounce up and down in their seats. I got a big grin going when I saw that the Hulk that looked as if it was modeled after the late Gil Kane’s version (except it doesn’t have that weird pineapple-shaped head his did), the Galactus shadow and yeah, those old costumes on some of the charaters. Speaking of characters, over 100 will be playable in the game, meaning this is going to be yet another game in the long running LEGO series with infinite replay value. This fall will be pretty darn busy for Marvel fans, that’s for sure…
Of course, DLC and pre-order bonuses are on board to rile some collectors who just want ONE game with everything in it and not have to hop around online and buy more than one copy of a game to get all the goodies. Hey, it’s the modern gaming age, so what can you do, right? Actually, the bonuses this time are probably going to get action figure fans of all ages a bit more bouncy:
Pre-order the console version through Walmart and receive an ultra exclusive Iron Patriot mini-fig when the game releases.
Receive a fun Spidey keychain when you pre-order any version through GameStop (available when the game releases). Power Up Rewards members who pre-order through the retailer also receive the DLC pack for free (PS3 and X360 only). Visit GameStop or GameStop.com for details.
Those who pre-order through Amazon will get a $10 games credit automatically applied to their Amazon account.
Hmmm… I guess Amazon drew the short straw here or something? Well, ten bucks credit is fine and doesn’t expire any time soon (or at all, I believe), so that’s a good deal for those looking to get some digital ducats. And holy heck, the game is coming out on EVERYTHING console and handheld wise (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, Wii U, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation Vita, and PC), so unless you’re a tablet or phone slave, you WILL be playing this game. And for a long time, at that. Excelsior!!!
