It’s in the cards…
I need to play more of what French developer and publisher Goblinz Studio is cooking. I’ve tried two games of theirs so far and both have been quite enjoyable. Now that the developer has branched out into publishing other titles, this is one I’d really like to try as well. Goblinz and Maple Whispering Limited have indie developer Seenapsis Studio’s nice looking turn-based strategy game A Long Way Down in Early Access on Steam, as it looks right up my alley – take a look:
A few screenshots for further perusal are below:
If it’s anything like Goblinz’ other games I’ve played, it’ll be addictive and pack in a few surprises. The Early Access build is, according to the publisher:
Inspired by hits like Darkest Dungeon, Slay the Spire and Hand of Fate, A Long Way Down is set in a dark and tormented world in which you’ll have to assemble your party and use your cards to survive, fight and build your way through a dark maze of monsters.
The cards you choose will determine how you explore the dungeon and defend yourself from every enemy as you meet many fellow adventurers, upgrade your items and equipment, and collect rewards.
A Long Way Down will be launched in Early Access and it will stay like that for 4-8 months. The game will currently contains 2-3 hours of gameplay, around 40 cards, 3 playable characters and a dozen monsters.
Sounds like it’s going to be worth a go here, so I’ll put in a code request and check it out in a review form.
