(thanks, Kabam RPG!)
Hey, Kabam! You just made me want to play a Star Wars game. Reading up on Uncle George trying to rewrite movie history has of late almost put me off wanting to go near anything new owner Disney intends to do with the franchise. Any SW fan worth his salt knows Han shot first, grrrr! That said, I’m still not a 100 percent tablet, mobile or broswer-based MMO convert just yet…
I’m truly hoping your upcoming Star Wars: Uprising does well enough as an online and/or mobile game that you guys can get it out on other platforms as either a F2P game or more preferably, one where gamers can pay one price for every bit of content up front and not have to resort to sinking their wallets into yet another game that dries up the fun when people stop or refuse to whip out that credit card. No matter my opinions on the state of some F2p games, the list of features in Uprising is certainly appealing:
Create the Hero the Galaxy Needs
Choose from a wide range of special skills, species, visual customizations and classic Star Wars™ gear to become the next Han Solo, Boba Fett or entirely unique hero of your own design.
Shape the Future of the Game Universe
Join players worldwide in massive sector-wide battles to dictate the expansion of in-game content, including new planets, exclusive gear and unique crew members.
A New Chapter in Star Wars
Play the first mobile game in the Star Wars universe that takes place between Star Wars™: Episode VI: Return of the Jedi™ and Star Wars™: The Force Awakens™.
Real-Time Co-op Against the Empire
Explore the secrets of the sector, build a powerful crew with allies, and play alongside friends in synchronous cooperative play.
Brave Challenges on Classic and New Worlds
Battle your way through missions on Hoth, Cloud City and more, fighting against powerful bosses led by an ominous new adversary.
Personally, I prefer playing games at home on a bigger TV or if push comes to shove, on my fairly active PlayStation Vita. But try telling that to any company that wants to rake in a faster profit from more users. it sucks being an underdog in a world of overdogs sometimes. But that’s how some of us choose to roll and it would be nice if we got a bone tossed our way every so often. Star Wars: Uprising isn’t out until September. But you can most certainly sign up for updates and get involved in the upcoming game’s community and events on the official site if your interest is piqued.
