Dragon’s Dogma Arrives To Take Me Away From Hell For A Bit…

Nice. I wasn’t expecting this to show up this evening, but well, here you go. First impressions: I can’t say, as the reviews are embargoed until MONDAY, but the title music cracked me up (let the first one play out and wait for the second, nicer theme). I’ve only put less than an hour in and yes, the game is quite a bit of fun and packed with detail and hidden loot. It’s a COMPLETELY different vibe than what some of you are probably thinking, but again – that’s content for the review.

OK, let me shut up and get back to it for a bit. I’ll be writing about something else in the next few posts so I don’t spoil any more…

    • Well, it’s not a “series” just yet – you guys need to run out and buy it and make sure Capcom can make another one down the road. I’m still playing the game so I can get a review up Monday or Tuesday, but so far, I’m pleased…

      • NO! Be certain to end the game before writing the review, please. A lot of reviews (the good ones) stated that the most awesome stuff is near and after the end (depending on the choices you make). Plus there’s the ng+ but no reviewer elaborated on that. RobertCram said the game “get you by the balls” after the credits roll, and that he was pleasantly surprised.

        Just to let you know.

      • I always try to complete a game before writing a review, thanks. As for New Game+, given that DD is quite long and challenging (I’ve put about 22 hours in so far)… you’re not going to find an early reviewer who had the time to get to the ending (I’d imagine some haven’t completed it before writing their reviews) unless they’ve NOT been busy playing all the other games that got sent out this past week (including Diablo III, which when it’s working, is pretty darn awesome).
