Lollipop Chainsaw TV Ad: Just About All You Can See During Primetime…

I really like that WBIE didn’t fall over themselves trying to whip up a tame and unremarkable commercial for Grasshopper’s upcoming game.  Yes, if you’ve been ogling the trailers before, you’ve seen most or all of this footage already. But this spot isn’t for YOU, silly rabbits. It’s for those folks who haven’t pre-ordered on heard of the game for some reason and are seeing all that weirdness for the first time. Hell, I’d buy this if I saw this ad and didn’t know a thing about the game just for the comedy bits alone. I predict a nice summer for Juliet if the game does well (and everyone involved will be happy as well)…

  1. I’ve been quite skeptical towards this game.. isn’t it just an XBLA game or is it retail? Anyway, I feel they are running out of good ideas to base games on.. just my opinion ^_^ I guess the game is more aimed towards the male audience o_O

    • It’s a retail release, but I think you might want to check it out before judging too harshly. If you’ve played any of Grasshopper’s other games and like the offbeat stuff such as Killer 7, No More Heroes or Shadows of the Damned, you’ll see there’s a certain style to their games that works really well. While the game seems geared to guys at first, it’s more like someone threw Buffy and Final Fight in a blender, added a GREAT soundtrack (it’s kind of 80’s era MTV) and get it on a disc.

      • Oh, DEFINITELY grab both No More Heroes games, as they’re still two of the best (and most original) games on the Wii. You’ll laugh a lot and there are some fun “retro” surprises to be found (minigame “jobs” for Travis). Also, the combat is slightly similar in Lollipop Chainsaw in that it’s combo-driven and pretty funny to watch.

      • cool ^^ The only reason I never bought it was that I never really got into the Wii, I have one, but the only game I’ve enjoyed for it so far is the Raving Rabbids games. I don’t enjoy the motion control thing..

      • The funny thing about the Wii is some games work better than others and there are games that play with the Classic Controller option that are not bad that way. I need to make a list of recommended titles one of these days, as a few people have asked me for suggestions lately…
