1. If it’s called “Dairy Dessert” it sure isn’t ice cream. Not by a long shot. Yeah, it’s cold and sweet (TOO sweet), but that’s about it. AVOID it at all costs (especially if it costs $2.49 for so much. You DO get what you pay for, folks. Yuck). Bonomo Turkish Taffy may have “tasted” like ice cream back in the day, but I’m not five years old anymore and this stuff is just a frozen fructose bomb with cancer color added for bad measure.
2. For some reason, lower bandwidth has gotten me a game demo faster than a connection four times as fast. I may write an article about this, but I’m too busy right now to get to it. Maybe once the weekend is over? We shall see. Oh, that demo was for the twin stick shooter Crimsonland on the Vita. Sword Art Online is still in the process of being downloaded, though. I only had about two hours to get it done but it’s FINALLY past the halfway point and I think I can get the rest of the game tomorrow in about the same time as it took today to get half loaded up. yeah, digital-only gaming sucks in some cases, especially when you’re in an area where the service is overpriced AND subject to sloth-like “speed”…
3. I finally manged to get a complete Steel Battalion in a game trade. Woo and Hoo. It’s going to be mailed out tomorrow, so I need to make space in the living room for that monstrous controller that was only used for this one game (and its expansion disc, which I think I need to also pick up for the library). If you know what Steel Battalion is, give yourself a pat on the back and +20XP. If you don’t, I’ll fill you in later once the big box arrives.
3a: Speaking of games, that Shadowgate reboot rocks. More on that this weekend, but if you know what that is, BUY IT.
4. If I were hiring anyone, I wouldn’t care one bit if they were male or female, but I’d sure as hell care about paying them the exact same wage because it’s only fair and smart at the end of the day. If you’re qualified to do the job, that’s the most important thing, no matter your gender. Paying someone less because you’re a sexist dope who thinks women aren’t as good as men at certain stuff is pretty much the stupidest thing with no real reasoning that makes any good sense behind it. If you’re a woman making less than a man who does the SAME job and you can defend that practice, I’d LOVE to know why you dislike both money and fairness.
*Okay, that’s not all “learned” stuff from today, but your brain tends to go in a few directions after a serving of Dairy Dessert. Yuck.

Frozen Dairy Dessert is one of the worst things in the world, and the blatant lack of ability to call it ice cream or even dairy based is disturbing. Not to mention it just tastes horrible..

It’s funny, that’s probably the one game I made room for and more or less kept room for here. I missed out on picking it up when I saw one for about $175 a few years back, so I’d say I’ll be pleased with the monster box when it shows up. I’ve played a bit of the game at a friend’s waaaaay back when it was released and 5 also tried out that Kinect-enabled sequel (which should have been controller only OR at least used that big ol’ original monster pad), so this should be an interesting revisit to this oldie…
