My Zelda Fan-Game “Sword of Moria” – What’s it About?

Well, alrighty then! I’ve played a lot of fan-made games over the years and while some are great to good, many are well-intentioned but hugely flawed because their stories tend to fall apart at the seams or are so riddled with grammatical errors that they’re tough to enjoy to the fullest.

On the flip side, the best fan games are seriously researched to get all the lore in place and lovingly crafted to evoke warm feelings of nostalgia while feeling completely fresh. Jessica Brown’s still in progress The Legend of Zelda: Sword of Moria is one of those wonderful examples of someone who has a love and respect for the classic Nintendo franchise and truly “gets” how to convey all that in her upcoming work. Anyway, go read up on the game and Ms. Brown herself in the “About Allahweh” section on her site.

And YES, you should sign up to test the game if you’ve time. The final version will be a free download, but I say it’s good enough to be seen as canon thanks to Jess’ deep research and knowledge of all things Legend of Zelda. Check it out!

  1. Thanks for reblogging this! A lot of work has and will go into this game to make it a true “Zelda III” style experience, and I really wanted to capture that essence. I only hope that the final product will stand up to what both myself and whomever plays it expects! 🙂
